Do not miss this gem!!

This was one of the most entertaining and educational tours that have been on. Guide was so knowledgeable, talented, and genuinely engaged. He sang a great medley of songs mixed with interesting stories and facts! Think his name was Shilly or something like that! Had a bonus tour offered by curator of the Overton Amphitheater.

No better way to see the city!

Simply loved learning interesting tidbits about Memphis and being entertained by a talented musician. New appreciation for those who risked it all to blaze new trails and follow their passion in the music industry. Memphis musicians are an inspiration and hearing live music along the way is the best way to do them justice

Do yourself a favor and take this tour

Go on this tour. 💯 the best tour ever. The musician Cecil Yancey did so great with my daughters. To hear them come back talking about how great this tour and Cecil was makes me glad that I spent the money!

Excellent Tour with an Awesome Guide

This unique tour bus takes you on a scenic ride around Memphis with a guide that plays a guitar, sings very well, and provides a history lesson on all of the places they drive to. Shae was our musician guide. She was an excellent guitarist and had a great voice. She had a vast knowledge of the music industry in Memphis and the people that made it all happen. A wonderful tour for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

Larry was our guide, we were the only ones on the tour so we had a very good time. He gave us a lot of information and a lot of laughs. It was nice not having a crowd of people with us and it was more personal. I am sure as time goes on it will get busier, we do the off season touring and enjoy less crowds. This is a must tour, you will learn a lot. We got to see Elvis’ family home in Memphis, Victorian Street, The Peabody Duck March, Lorraine Motel, had lunch at Central BBQ, and ended our tour with rock n soul. All inclusive when you book, we did a groupon.

Music city fun

We had a great time on the tour! Katherine was amazing ! She has a wealth of knowledge about Memphis music history and quite a singing voice too. The Sun studio tour was also great. So many stories of our fav musicians. Take this tour when in Memphis!!!

Fabulous and entertaining tour!

Really entertaining tour of Memphis! Our guide told great stories and sang throughout the experience. He was funny, informative and talented. Very much recommend this experience. We booked the longer tour that included a ride to Sun Studios, entry and a ride back. It was interesting but we had heard most of the stories on the previous guided tour.

Wedding Letdown

Contracted for a wedding. Backbeat Tours showed up late to pick up guests (which led to some driving independently thinking they missed transportation), then ended service early due to weather, debatable as far as if this was justified given inclement weather didn’t happen until the next morning it was just raining when they abruptly made a last call announcement — which subsequently resulted the majority of guests leaving event, and did not proactively offer to refund the 1.5 hours not covered at the end of the night. Time of service was scheduled for 4-11:30pm, with final pickup from venue at 11 and ultimately they only provided transportation starting at 4:15 and final pickup left at 9:30.

If you have an important event, I would absolutely not recommend this company. Showing up late to pick guests up very well could have impacted put ability to start the Ceremony on time. The lack of compassion and understanding from this company is less than satisfactory.

Unique way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Memphis!

Fun family adventure! A great way to learn about rock and roll history in the city that started it all. Very nice folks, comfortable bus, info/stops were timed perfectly by our awesome guide Cecil and the driver. Fun music. Arrive early to get a drink at Alfred’s before the tour and BYOB for the bus!

Music makes the Mojo Tour!

The Mojo Tour is a great way to hear about the history of Memphis music as you see the sights and listen to your own musician guide. Cecil was EXCELLENT both as a guide and musician. It happened to rain all afternoon and this was the perfect solution for still enjoying the city. We added the Sun Recording Studio tour at the end and that was terrific. Well worth the money!
