My wife and I took the extended Memphis MOJO tour which includes a bus ride around Memphis to all of the historical spots including the Levitt band shell where Elvis played his first concert. Note that you do not get off the bus most of the tour. But our guide let us get down to see the Levitt band shell.... More

This was my husband and I's first trip to Memphis. We both LOVE music and this tour had so much great knowledge on music history. We loved it!

The tour was great! Our guide was knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour when you visit Memphis. Sun city and the Levitt Shell were highlights!

Backbeat tours is a great way to not only get the history of the Memphis music scene, but hear it as well. Your tour guide plays snippets of the songs made famous by Elvis, Johnny Cash and others who made their mark in Memphis. You can sing along and play instruments. Take the extra tour stop at Sun Studios! Well... More

Our guide was Larry, and he was FANTASTIC! The morning trip around Memphis was interesting, we waited 30 min to see some ducks run 3 seconds, down a carpet. Not sure if 20% of the trip deserved to be dedicated to ducks. No noise makers or music on our tour.

We did the Mojo tour. The bus was filled with somewhat obnoxious 50-60 year olds who were a little too into the tour for our liking. You drive by 2-3 places of interest, but mostly it is just a 1.5 hour ambling drive around the city while the guide plays some music and tells some stories. The guide was ok,... More

Yes, you could drive around Memphis on your own but why??? The talented musician on our tour was a local and provided wonderful stories throughout the trip through the streets of Memphis. We also opted for the Sun Studio Tour which took place before the driving tour. Lots of fun! Highly recommended!

The wonderful folks at Backbeat tours made special arrangements for our group to take a ghost tour an a night they don't usually do them. The weather turned to rain but our guide wasn't daunted. He was extremely knowledgable and delightful. I think his name was TJ. He was the best. We learned a lot of the fascinating history of... More

This was a great tour, weaving in and out around the city streets, and listening to the storytelling and singing of our hostess. We also added the Sun Studio visit to our tour, and it was great, as well. Super stories and musical history, all around!

Thank caistorette
