Walked across to the island on a hot day towards the end of May. Some great angles for photo opportunities from the bridge. To see the miniture version of Ol' Miss was absolutely delightful. If you have the right footwear I would recommend a paddle, it looked so much fun. Food facilities were very poor though which really let it... More

This is a fun place to get outdoors and rent a bicycle and joy the afternoon. The path along the river is nice and a great break from downtown. Food and water is available along the way

This is such an amazing park! The detail involved is incredible. We had fun floating flip flops down the river and cooling off in "The Gulf." Having said all this, it appears the park could use some TLC. It appears it is not on the top priority list of the city to keep it pristine. It would be a shame... More

The train that goes from the mainland to the island, as well as all the escalators, were out of order the day we visited so we didn't get off to a good start. We took our 11 year old grandson here and explained to him that the main part of the park is a representation of the Mississippi River. Unfortunately,... More

When we make the yearly trip to Memphis we always make sure we visit Mud Island. Museum has lots to see and the river walk is fun for the kids yet peaceful for the adults.

This is a really interesting diversion from Downtown Memphis. Easily accessible via the monorail or footbridge, the highlight is the scale model of the Mississippi River - with a scale of about a metre per mile there is real detail that shows how the river builds & the towns & cities that lie on its banks. Great for kids as... More

My son (almost 4) had a blast traipsing through the water feature. It was really interesting to see the different elevation levels of the river as well as the extent that it covers. We took the monorail over to the island and that was pretty neat.

Mud Island Park is set in a stunning location, right next to the Mississippi River, just below the I-40 bridge, the view s are spectacular. The park includes a fantastic model of the entire lower Mississippi and the Museum was a true hidden gem. Beautiful exhibits that she the story of the river, and the great river boats that have... Very well thought out, clean park. Great for an afternoon stroll by the Mississippi River. Clean restrooms. You can walk across the river or ride the monorail for a small price.

For $4, we took a scenic monorail ride to Mudd Island and enjoyed the views of the river and the city. There is a breezy observation deck. We did not visit the museum due to lack of time. We did walk along the water feature that traces the path of the Mississippi River, which is both fun and information, particularly... More
