We were very surprised at how nice this visit was. The kids had a ton of fun and so did we. If you are in the downtown Memphis area do yourself a favor and stop by, the stop only takes about an hour.

This is one of the best museums in the country. For anyone that has a interest in the history of the fire service this is a "must see". The museum is very well organized and very complete.

My teenage son is a firefighter and wanted to check out this museum on our yearly trip to Memphis. I have to say I wasn't excited to go but once we got there I was glad we went. There is so much history packed into this museum. Highly recommend everyone visit whether you have an interest in firefighting or not.... More

Thank you for your positive review! I always tell people we are the best kept secret in Memphis! We were created to impact a high fire fatality rate in Memphis and through the years have become recognized in the Fire Service as the go-to fire museum to emulate. It is a privilege to know we impact lives through edutainment. Please... More

Visited on 7/8/2016. Started off with a warm greeting from the staff. History of the Memphis Fire Department is well represented. We enjoyed the fire room (simulated fire) to the hands on exhibits. My son loved playing on the fire trucks (okay I did too)! Easily worth the price of admission. As a bonus a dalmatian service dog was there... More

This is a must see. Everything from equipment to old fire engines, there is a kids area and you get to drive the simulator truck to the fire. Sit inside a house on fire and feel the temperature rise. The staff is so friendly and have lots of info about the museum and Memphis. There's a 911 tribute wall there... More

Thank you so very much for your positive response! We love hearing we are doing things right! We created a museum to honor our Memphis and Shelby County Firefighters in the surrounding areas, but also stepped outside the box to create a life saving museum for our visitors, one that is fun for the entire family. Please come again as... More

Small but fun for the young kids. A lot of hands on a activities for them. My son is 8 years old and he had a blast. My husband turned into a big kid himself.

Great location of birthday parties as the children dress in the firemen uniforms, jump in a truck and drive to the fire. There is so much interactive fun! There is even more education and historical equipment and materials to view. It is special to my heart as my great great grandfather's uniform is on exhibit as well as the first... More

Very cool place. My husband is a firefighter so we decided to stop by here and check it out one afternoon. The first room has a some interesting and historic apparatus and fire prevention. The main building has some great hands on activities for kids. Lots of fire prevention for them and some interesting historical information for the parents. They... More
