Take the second parking (first is at the beach of Morar) and you can walk towards the beach with beautiful white sand. Less than one hour walks are possible. Amazing views on Skye and Isle of Rum

We were lucky enough to be here early morning and had the beach to ourselves for a couple of hours. Stunning views of Skye, Eigg and Muck. Clean and unspoilt. Tide had just gone out and we enjoyed searching for shells and finding small creatures...More

Beach - or small cove - after beach after small cove. What a delightful discovery. A wonderful place to explore

We knew this was Ben’s beach in Local Hero so had to visit whilst in the area. What a beach, so picturesque looking over to Skye, Egg and Rhum. Rocky outcrops and high dunes make this a very special place, peaceful and revives the soul.

Location for Local Hero, stunning views, beautifully clean and safe for swimming. Sunset particularly stunning. Lots of shells to collect and string of beaches join up when tide out.

As beautiful as we had read but the most important advice (tide permitting) is to keep walking along the beach. We were a bit mystified that everyone seemed to have stopped within 100 metres of the car park. But there’s a lot more if you...More

Hi, don’t know if anyone actually owns the beach but we did hear that the small car park was owned by a local lady and that she was shutting it. Wonder if she has anything to do with it?

Yes. Just google Camusdarach self-catering and you should get a number of options. Also try Morar and Arisaig

Fort William to Mallaig (9 Replies)
Hi, We will going from Ft William to Portree via the late afternoon ferry on Sept 9th. We plan on stopping at the Glenfinnan monument and Camusdarach beach. Does anyone have any more suggestions? We will 6 hours or so to make this trip,so plenty of time to explore the area. Someone,(I believe Scotlandmac) mentioned a nice view from the cross in Arisaig, I cannot find it on streetview... Thanks
