Two of us, with a tiny dog, arrived on-spec late on a Monday afternoon in August. The sun was shining and we fancied a little while oit on the water. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We chose a to take a canadian canoe for half an hour - which came complete with life jackets and paddles. Boat handling instruction was offered, but as we have previous canoe experience we set off without. It was a beautiful paddle, but canoes cannot be taken out of the immediate area, so perhaps next time we’ll take a small motor boat for half a day and explore the islands clearly in view…

Trips limited due to time of year. The weather a bit drizzly. The lady in the ticket office was extremely friendly. The boat well maintained and comfortable. The views still stunning. An excellent 1 hour trip.

Boats are all well serviced and in good condition. There are a good range of boats for hire to suit all different perposes.

We booked a boat for 2 people for 2h during the hot august season. We were on time and were suprised somehow to find that we were the only ones renting motor boats, even though the place was packed! We got our vests, provided a 100 GBP deposit and were given general instructions. We were shown a poster on the cabin wall with a map of the Loch, dangerus and shallow areas and the warning signs that we were supposed to know and be well aware of. But we had not that map in hand. They recommended us to take a photo with our cell phone of the map for directions (gotcha!). Then we were given instructions on the boat about basic operational rules and thay showed us the propeller status. There is no warning tool so you must have a cell phone in a waterproof bag for safety. The experience was very nice and we enjoyed driving around the islands. But you may get lost and we did. We found ourselves in shallow water. We were driving through a wide enough strait that had only a small passage deep enough to follow, We didn't notice and despite we were driving very slowly we scratched our propeller. When we came back and they rightfully kept our deposit . Actually they got more money from us from the deposit than from the rental itself. They had a reason for it but one wonders why they provide so lousy information and no detailed maps to prevent these situations. Certainly this'd not be the first time it happens. If you keep long distance from the islands, the experience is not as interesting. So I recommend go enjoy yourselves but better make sure you have some maps printed ready in advance to carry on!!!! All in all, good experience but not OK in terms of safety.…

After getting engaged in one of the boats back in 2013, we have been out in the boats another four times since. Great fun. Staff are lovely and really helpful. We were soaked to the skin on one journey but it just added to the fun. Can't wait to go again.
