The location within the woodland provides the perfect setting for the centre and a natural backdrop for our daily flying shows. We have nearly 40 Birds of Prey & Owls. Exceeded our expectations. Try to go during flying exhibition.
We were staying at Cameron House and rode bikes to the Birds of Prey center. It was a beautiful ride. The center is in loman shores and is well worth the $10 entry. There are lots of beautiful birds to see up close. We were lucky enough to be there during a flying exhibition that allowed us to see the birds in action. The staff is passionate.
Thank you very much for your comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and the flying show.

    Great place lots of birds
We went on the way home and it was a great way to kill some time. We saw lots of birds and learnt a lot and all the birds have lots of flying space. The flying show was very interesting and amusing. It would have been nice if there was a little more going on, perhaps some people going around holding birds they could tell you more about. But generally a very good couple of hours and would go back.
Hi, thank you for your review, Glad you enjoyed the flying show and your visit. Depending on staff numbers on the day, we are usually working with the birds throughout the day and we do take time to engage with visitors when we can. Sometimes that is not possible due to the amount of work we have to do and if there are ongoing experiences.

    An enjoyable trip
We visited this centre during our recent trip to Loch Lomond. We arrived just in time for the flying show, which the helpful staff member on reception directed us to. I feel that the flying show really made the visit worthwhile, so definitely plan your visit around these (I believe there are two each day. Ours was at 2pm). The show itself was humorous and interesting and we were able to film some excellent videos of the birds in flight. The handlers made sure to direct the birds around the flying arena so every guest could see them up close. The birds themselves are beautiful and it was amazing to see them so close. I was glad to see some information about why they were tethered because I feel this is important for guests to know and understand. There is also a lot of information about each bird and I particularly enjoyed reading about the personal histories of some of the birds. Although it is a small centre, it is worth going if you have any interest in birds of prey.
Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you for pointing out the information about tethering, it is important for people to know and understand the reasoning behind it. Many people have dogs on leads yet criticise tethering. We take great pride in our welfare standards and the information we provide. Thank you again.

Great visit, lots of birds and the flight show is fabulous
Staff were very friendly and really knew their birds. We went to the 11 am flight show and it did not disappoint. Saw 3 birds fly and lots of background information. Highly recommend- we spent at least two hours here. Good for a family outing.
Thank you for your comments, glad you and your family enjoyed your visit. See you next time.

See beautiful birds of prey up close, like you have never seen them before.
This place is tucked in a wooded and secluded spot, in the middle of a very busy area. It's a lovely setting for these amazing birds of prey. We got here a bit late in the day, so all the flying exhibitions were over, but we did get to see the trainers working with a few of the birds and letting them stretch their wings (so to speak). This is a refuge, not a zoo. They are not breeding birds here, they are caring for birds that need a home. It was amazing to see all the various birds they have on site and amazing to see how big (or small) and beautiful they are up close. It was a very enjoyable visit.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. A pity you missed the flying shows but happy that you managed to see some of the daily flights.

    Worthy of a visit
A good little place to visit for pre teens and up. A nice collection of birds with some good information. Reasonably priced. We did feel sorry for how the birds were tethered to the perches or in small cages but signage assured us they were happy. If you do come, try and time it for the show. The staff did a great job at keeping the information coming and allowing the birds to do their thing, even if that was hiding in a bush at the back of the display area!
Thank you. I'm glad you understood about how content the birds are. The aviaries are more than arge enough to allow free flight, although as you probably noticed, birds of prey spend very little time flying. In the wild they spend upwards of 95% of their time doing absolutely nothing. A pity about the absentee, it happens some times.

    Educational and entertaining visit
Brilliant little visit to take up some time during our visit in the Balloch area! Timed our visit to coincide with one of the two flying shows, which was fun and informative and it was lovely to see the birds and their keepers interacting. We got to see the Caracara who was rescued from a negative environment and it was lovely to see the bird being treated with such care and respect and how well they look after him and all of the other birds. There were lots of other birds of prey displayed and it was really nice to see how many were rescue birds and living a much better life now. There was plenty of information about the different species, the individual birds, and also about the tethering - the first time I have seen a proper explanation and have a much better understanding and appreciation for it now! Birds looked very well taken care of and kept in nice clean environments. Very acceptable entry fee too. Would happily return if we are ever in the area again!
Thank you so much for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. We are so glad you took the time to read the information sheets and understand exactly what we do. Thank you again, see you next time.

Lovely time at the Birds of Prey Centre Loch Lomond
Fantastic bird of prey centre. Very clean, birds obviously loved and well cared for. Staff very friendly and lady who did the bird display wonderful sense of humour. Really enjoyable couple of hours, once you have paid you can come and go all day, we looked around then saw first display then went out and enjoyed a trip on the loch then back to watch afternoon display (different birds.)
Hi Julie, Thank you very much for your kind words, we really appreciate your comments. We are so glad you had the time to see both flying shows. Hopefully see you again soon.

    Cannot recommend enough!
We had a great experience at the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre! There was a bit of a mix up with booking times but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are amazing and so knowledgeable and passionate. It’s a great opportunity to meet and get up close to some really unique birds of prey. The experiences and flying shows are especially worth doing.
Hi Sarah, thank you for your review. We are so glad we managed to accommodate your experience after travelling such a long way. Thank you for your wonderful comments, we really appreciate them.

    Bird of prey day out.
We went for the full bird of prey experience the price seems steep but it is well worth it and will recommend it, we have already decided on returning again in the future, their is plenty of variations of big birds and some cute little one's. The staff are brilliant and knowledgeable with each species. It rained on the afternoon we was there but it didn't stop us enjoying it to the fullest.
Hi, thank you for commenting. We are glad you enjoyed your experience, despite the weather. We look forward to welcoming you back the next time you are in the area.

Brilliant flying shows and gorgeous birds.
We had a lovely day popping in and out of the centre to see the birds and watch the shows. The Father and Son team who run the centre are clearly very passionate about what they do and the kids picked up on this. We love how they are teaching about one of my fave birds the vulture and how vulnerable they are.
I would recommend visiting here as good value, good entertainment and also helping to support a great team caring for brilliant birds.

We loved this place! The birds are fascinating and clearly well cared for. The staff are passionate about the welfare of the animals and we had a great time at one of the daily flying shows. The entrance price is reasonable, and the wristband allows you to come and go as you please all day. The staff are well prepared for Covid, with sanitising stations and a one way system. Overall, a couple of hours well spent!

Only about 16 people are allowed in because of new restrictions. But it was quiet the day we visited so no queue. Bit sad to see the birds tethered up but suppose this has to be and im sure they are all very well looked after. So nice to get close up to these beautiful birds. We missed the flying display i think it was just twice daily? The staff were on hand to ask questions and the young girl in the ticket office was so friendly and enthusiastic. Glad we took the time to visit.

We had this on our list of things to do before the holiday, it is well worth it, the entry price is incredible value, considering they have a lot of birds to look after, take care off and feed.

Never under estimate the conservation work, rescuing and educating factor that goes into this centre. The display we saw was informative and allowed us to see the birds in a different light, they obviously had a bond with the staff, some funny bits and some magestic parts as well. Bones (the vulture) did a lot of showing off and had pecked the handlers mouth, so respect to Bones. I have seen Owls in the countryside and even handled them before, however to see an owl glide and fly so quietly whilst being so close was a special moment.

The centre is great for a visit, nice people run the centre and it is informative and clean and covid safe. Thank you to all of the staff for making our visit an enjoyable one and thank you to the birds for letting us visit you.

The birds of prey centre is something that you can go through rather quickly and is little bit pricey for what you get for your money.

There are a few types of birds to look at such as owls and eagles and seem to be very friendly however I would like there to be more birds than there is.

The ground is little bit gravelly especially if you are in a wheelchair.

The staff are very nice and tell you a good bit of information on the birds.

There is also no gift shop which is a bit unfortunate.

Overall the experience was good but could've been better such as the price of entry being cheaper and more birds to look at but what there is, is enough to get enjoyment out of the birds of prey centre and I would recommend to go when possible!

Had a brilliant time here today. Going in you get to see so many different birds of prey. The staff were there to ask them any questions and the information boards gives you a background about each of them and what their name is. We were lucky enough to get to go to the show aswell. The birds were swooping and showing off their wings while the staff were telling us about them all. After that we went to visit a little baby barn owl that was just new and was very sweet. The setting is stunning nestled amongst the trees with a little stream running through. The staff were all really friendly and happy to stand and chat and talk about the birds. The bird we saw today with one member of staff was just new and so comfortable with him even though it had just arrived, he was telling us about how much time gets put into the birds continuously so they are very much cared for. They take part in conservation programmes as well with others so it’s doing good work too ! Will definitely be back soon to see how all the birds are getting on ☺️

Very expensive for a very small display, you could walk around it in 10 minutes. The flying display was ok, but they on,ya flew 4 birds in a small area and that didn’t last very long.

It’s okay if you’re visiting the mall and are close by, but don’t make a long trip just for this.

We try to enlighten and educate the visiting public at the same time, both during their walk around the centre and the flying shows. I'm not sure how many flying shows you have seen, but the vast majority of our visitors find them educational, and rate them highly. I suppose it depends on an individual's mood and outlook when they arrive as to what they take from their visit?

We stopped in at the Bird of Prey Centre as we were passing through Loch Lomond for a birthday trip to the highlands. On a cold and rainy day we were not expecting much from the visit, however, we were really surprised and our visit is one of the highlights of our holiday.

All the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It was clear they cared deeply about what they do and the welfare of the birds. It was great to learn about the unique characteristics of each bird (especially biggles, dink and bones)

Despite the rain, all the handlers worked to put on a really interesting show, we really appreciated the enthusiasm. The staff were very quick to act to ensure the safety of their visitors when a small child got a little too excited and ran beyond the safety point during the show. Well done to Stewart.

Special thanks to Maia for being so hospitable and Stewart for sharing his deep knowledge with us. We can’t wait to visit again.

I don’t appreciate a lecture on how to parent my children before they’ve even had a chance to get it wrong, neither do I expect to be told not to throw rubbish from my wristband on the floor before I’ve been handed the band.

We visited before having children and weren’t spoken to like this, really disappointing and made for a very unwelcoming start to our visit.

It was also disappointing to be told (after we’d paid) that there was a very limited capacity for the flying displays and they’d probably be too full for us to attend. I appreciate there are restrictions currently but perhaps be more upfront, or offer more flying displays, or adjust pricing accordingly.

We really enjoyed our honeymoon visit and were looking forward to coming with our children, but unfortunately we won’t be back again, I’ll take them somewhere they (and we) are made to feel more welcome.

Hi Alison, Sorry you feel that way. I don't think you would have been given a lecture, just advised to make sure the children followed the rules due to social distancing requirements etc. Unfortunately, due to the actions of a few, we have to ensure everyone is aware of the rules. Also, I'm sure the bin for wristband tags was pointed out and you were not "told" not to "throw" your rubbish on the floor. We do have restrictions on numbers on site, currently 60, which in fairness is not "very" limited. We point out to everyone that if they leave site to come back for the shows, there is no guarantee there would be space. Also, our prices have not changed for seven years, there is a greater variety of birds now than when you probably visited the last time, and there are two daily flying shows, all for the same price. So the statement regarding "overpriced" is really unfair. Whether our receptionist was caught on the hop and you misinterpreted what you heard, or maybe you were on your backfoot already, I have no idea. But, going by your comments, I feel you are over-reacting to the situation, particularly as our receptionists are complimented all the time for their courtesy and customer care. Stewart Robertson, Owner.

My husband and I enjoyed a visit here on Saturday. The entry price was very reasonable (£8 each) and if we keep our wristbands we can return again another day half price! The centre was very clean and well maintained. The birds were beautiful and looked healthy and happy. We thoroughly enjoyed the flying show. The staff were very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. A lovely way to spend a few hours.
