About
Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre is located in a natural woodland which retains much of the original woodland and streams to provide the ideal natural setting for nearly 40 Birds of Prey & Owls. The centre is home to over 20 Owls, representing every native species as well as unique or unusual species from other parts of the world. See "Orla", and "Scout" our two magnificent female Golden Eagles. See a selection of hawks and owls fly during our daily flying shows in the flying area. Hear how these magnificent creatures have evolved to become the success predators they are, and how they live on the edge of survival every day. There are hand sanitisers located within the centre. We request everyone to abide by the social distancing guidelines.

Had a really interesting visit here. Lots of information about the birds and you could get unusually close to them. They were all in wonderful condition. Please support their care by visiting.

Great experience, we attended both the shows on Sunday and we were really impressed with the quality! The speakers are great, particularly Adele who clearly has such a talent for it.
So many different birds to see and the staff were happy to answer loads of questions.
Would 100% return!

We’ve just returned from our visit today. Absolutely fantastic experience. Great for all ages. Our four year old had a wonderful time. Great info given about each bird. The flying show was fun & extremely informative. We all learnt so much. Thanks again for a brilliant day. We’ll be back soon.

Staff are very friendly and the show staff are hilarious
Obviously the birds are the main event and was pleasure to hear about them and see them close up
The little education centre is great

8 of us visited, including 2 young children. We had an awesome visit, and it was certainly good value for money. It was clean and well kept.

We loved seeing all the birds, and thought the flying display was fabulous. We learnt a lot about each of the birds, and it was lovely to see their personalities. The staff clearly cared for the birds, and were so knowledgeable.

A great place to spend and hour or so. I imagine you could easily stay longer, but with young children it was the perfect amount of time for us.

Would definitely recommend a visit.

What a wonderful little place!

Very clean. The staff are knowledgeable, and they have some beautiful birds.

I arrived an hour before it closed (it was a spur of the moment visit), so I'd missed the flying. But that didn't matter. It was quiet, calm. All the birds were very relaxed. You can get close to the birds, which was more than I had expected.

Lots of information. I fell in love with the Steppe Eagle. He was feisty and magnificent.

Well worth a visit with children because they were very knowledgeable in all aspects of the birds.

For me, it was wonderful to be able to sit there quietly, and listen to their wonderful calls.

Thoroughly recommended 😊

Was looking forward to visiting this place but was a bit disappointed. We was there all of half hour and then left. There wasn't much there unfortunately was expecting a bit more.

Sorry you feel like that Katie, possibly you are not into birds of prey or owls ? We have many many visitors who spend a few hours at the centre, reading and learning about wildlife, nature, conservation, owls and raptors. Your wristband allowed you to visit all day, perhap you should have returned to watch a flying show, then you might have felt it was more worthwhile. Unfortunately I don't know what you were expecting to see. Our Golden Eagles are quite spectacular, maybe you missed them.

If you are ever in Scotland you must visit the Bird of Prey Centre at Balloch!

The Birds are stunningly beautiful, and we loved how the centre is set up so that you can see all the birds so easily, and they even have little information and name plaques about them to learn their story.

The flying show was such a breathtaking experience, to be so close that you can feel the breeze as these wonderful birds glide past you was incredible. And during the show Stewart and his female colleague provided commentary which was both informative and in parts witty.

The centre is clean and tidy, and set up really well, the staff are helpful and happy to answer questions. Stewart was great to chat to and it's clear to see his passion for the birds in his care and how much love he and the staff have for the birds welfare and the different species conservation.

So many birds to see, we love them all, but Luna and Gerry have a place in our hearts!

You must visit, it's an experience we won't forget...at least until we go back next year!

Hi Russell, I'm really pleased you got so much from your visit, and Lucy and yourself enjoyed it so much. It was good to have a chat. It is very rewarding when people such as yourself see the committment we have to our birds and their welfare. Your choice of favourites isn't a surprise, they are a couple of stunning falcons. We look forward to seeing you and Lucy next time. Take care, and thank you for taking the time to contact us.

We were unfortunate to time our visit during heavy rain! However, we also managed to see the afternoon bird show which was very informative and great fun to see the birds up close. We would highly recommend a visit!

Hi Laurie, thank you very much for your comments. The weather has been a bit extreme on occassion during the last few weeks. We do try to fly in all conditions, but sometimes the rain (monsoon) puts an end to that. We are glad you managed to catch the afternoon show and enjoyed your visit.
