The staff were highly knowledgeable of Bute's outstanding military contributions, and the museum has an impressive assembly of artifacts. Highly recommended and a must-see place to visit when travelling to Rothesay!

Quite delightful, where else on the island are you likely to see an Air Ministry wave meter rubbing shoulders with a Fairburn-Sykes commando knife? Do pop in and support them.

This little place is well worth a visit if you are in Rothesay. It is down a quiet lane (Deanhood Place). The museum has a small but very interesting collection of military memorabilia and the guy on duty was very informative.

Went for a visit and the staff are just fantastic. Even if you aren't into military matters it's just fascinating and well worth a visit.

Regarded as the smallest military museum in Scotland. A very interesting museum packed with military artefacts, some personal stories and medals from local soldiers who served and died for their country.

Popped in while exploring Bute, chap was in the middle of rearranging the place but stopped for a chat. Not my thing, but hubby had a good blether. Very knowledgable, and a lot of it pertinent to Bute and those who served in the war.
Well worth a wee visit if you like WW2 history and artefacts.

I came across this museum when I was wandering around Rothesay. This is a small local museum and has a few artefacts from recent conflicts. The staff member I spoke to was very pleasant.

The Bute Military Museum was refurbished during the winter and has a whole new look. The interior layout has been simplified and all exhibits are now in a single display area.
