Definitely worth a visit to spend a penny or in this case 40p! The old toilets are well kept and have lovely tile work. They are situated by the pier and near to where the ferry docks.

An absolutely superb display of Victorian municipal plumbing. Whether or not you are a plumbing affectionado or just a wide eyed tourist like me, you should find the spectacle of this "convenience" simply superb.

It sounds strange but this is really worth going to see. This is what Victorian toilets were like, and these really are the genuine article. We had showers here after arriving by boat and it was like a time warp.

Eight shillings bought me a perch on a “Deluge Adamant” such are the inflationary times in which we live. Never has our nation’s architectural heritage been so abused! Worth a visit but I’d give in five minutes.

The Victorian toilets are at the Rothesay Pierhead , and well worth a visit. Built in the late 1800,s. They are a riot of marble and tiles, and would have seemed more at home in an upmarket Victorian Hotel, but they were Public Toilets, and...More

Not much of a touristic attraction in my view. Other than a bit different tiles on the floor and the walls, there is not much to see (in the ladies toilets). Very clean though and worth giving a chance.

this is the left over marble from mount stuart. This seems massive for today but in1900 there were three steamboats an hour arriving.

It only takes a few minutes to look around but what a neat experience! I (female) got to go in the gents’ and take pics once the attendant made sure no one was in there. Worth every pence!

I guess Paul b has answered the question. I honestly would not have known, as we only visited on a day trip. But well worth the 40p for a wee visit.
