Int is a short walk from the second car park to the stones bearing the cup and ring marks but those who complete will be well rewarded for their efforts.

Well signposted and so really easy to find. We did this walk quite late at night and it really added to the atmosphere.
The site is very well described when you get there and written in a way that captures a child's imagination too.
Only thing to watch is the dreaded midgie. It's fine if you are on the move but they are brutal when standing still in the evening.

Finding the best place to park isn't straightforward, but the top end of the forest walk is wheelchair friendly, so it's possible for almost anyone to reach these stones easily. Park at the right spot, past the depot, over the cross road and up the slope for half a mile until you come to a small second parking area on the right. From here it's only about 10 minutes walk. If you want to enjoy a longer forest walk park at the lower car park.
The stones are fenced, but the first lot are clearly visible; follow the path another 300m and there's a second group, impressive, but with the upper and larger stone almost invisible from outside of the fence. Still, there's plenty to see and it's important that such incredible traces of our long-distant ancestors remain protected.

This is easy to find because there are signs that lead you to it. Unfortunately as of 9/10/13, the parking lot and trail were still closed. The signs stated the work was scheduled for completion by 8/30/13. We were disappointed because this one of the things we wanted to see the most!

Worth seeing. My sister says they are best viewed as the sun is low in the sky to see the rings really defined but at any time of the day they are impressive.

The sight of all those ancient symbols carved on the bare rocks is a great experience and almost humbling. Nobody knows what they signify but they must have meant a lot to the unknown people who chiselled them out. The easiest way to see them is to park in the disabled car park and follow the yellow posts. The pathway to the first set of carvings is on a level walkway but the path is less even to the second. The situation and scenery are lovely and the atmosphere is suitably mystical.

Nice location, quite easy to reach. Parking with pic nic area. Nice walk to enjoy nature and ancient rock carvings well protected. Information boards are very instructive. No real need for additional background information. Congratulations to "Historic Scotland" if you want to spend more time in this fantastic region, buy the book "in the footstep of the kings"

These are deeply mysterious sites and anyone who claims to understand them knows nothing. I was pleased that there was not too much 'interpretation' . The marks are happily beyond our knowledge, but evoke a very ancient society that knew what they were doing, and constantly tried to understand the world around them. There is great geometric precision in some of the circles, and elusive lines connecting them. The site is fairly remote, not too well signed. It os most easily accessed from the 'disabled' route, from which there is a fairly wide path winding through trees. The rings can be found on several different rocks through the forest. Definitely worth calling in if on the way to Kilmartin, Dunadd or other archaeological sites in the area.
