It’s simple, turn up, drive on and pay during the five-minute voyage. Quite expensive if you do it more than once (£22 return for a car and two pax or tickets in multiples of ten), but the only way to get over to Jura. I...More

Professional, efficient, affordable. Its interesting to watch it go if you don't make it as part of the first grouping, it fights with the channel but they are experts about it, you don't even notice that you are crossing the way that you do if...More

This little ferry takes a few vehicles, in a few minutes, across one of the strongest tidal flows in Scotland. Great skill needed, at times, to keep the ferry steady across the racing waters. If you find this thought scary, just pick a different time...More

We went on a visit from Islay to Jura. It is about 10 minutes and it travels back and to all day. It was a very efficient service which can take up to 8 to 10 or so vehicles at a time, depending on size....More

We used it to cross with the car. It is timely and fast. Fits around 5 cars at a time. Takes less than 5 minutes to cross. Staff helpful n courteous.

Drive off the main ferry from Islay, and the lads waved us straight onto the smaller ferry to Jura. Quick, no hassle, and great fun too! A proper service, with a family-like atmosphere. It was a short trip, but big on service - thanks guys!

The ferry is inexpensive and if visiting Islay a few hours on Jura is a must. It is a very short crossing and the ferry runs frequently with a handful of vehicles. No booking required. Expect rain.

The Jura Car Ferry is a vital link for getting to the island and offers a good service. However, at the end of our week, the service was disrupted due to fog in the channel between Jura and Islay preventing the ferry crossing in front...More

The Jura Ferry is an experience all of its own, a small Drive on Boat that barely stops to load and unload. The Captain and Crew load Vehicles onto the Deck, filling every bit of space, then it is manoeuvre with the greatest of skill...More

The journey to Jura takes approximately 5 minutes and is regular throughout the day. We went over in foot but, unfortunately, the bus wasn't due for another hour so we had a nice long walk round part of the island. The ferry takes cars and...More
