This is a little gem of a walk, well worth seeking out in the area of Inveraray. A very pleasant stroll through mainly wooded paths, with some stunning views across Loch Fyne to Inveraray. A fairy trail and a Gruffalo search for the youngsters too, plus some very large trees, including a silver fir regarded as the mightiest in Europe. It certainly had a very big trunk.

Fell on this little place as we were staying in the Cairndow Stagecoach Inn overnight, 200 yards away - otherwise we wouldn't have known of its existence. Lovely wooded garden with a Gruffalo and fairy trail for children. Stunning trees. No facilities - just a portaloo - but the lady taking the entrance fee was really friendly and obviously had a passion for the garden.

This was one of the best things we did while in the area. It was great value for money too. Under 4s are free. Gruffalo trail and fairy trail great for kids. Some very steep steps which were fine for our 3 and 5 year olds if we had them by the hand. We did it all in a few hours. I wouldn’t personally do the steep bits with younger kids unless in a carrier, but you could do the Gruffalo trail and fairies. Not buggy friendly. Member of staff was lovely and friendly and explained everything. Payment is cash or PayPal, no card machine. There is a portaloo toilet and no refreshments. Lots of benches dotted around so you could take a picnic on a good day or a snack and some drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A peaceful walk through the woodlands on a dull damp day which made me smile at the magnificent Champion Trees and the variety of different fungi growing around them. TheGruffalo and Fairy Trail would appeal to children. I would like to return when the Rhododendrons are in flower.

A beautiful spot and very well set out. The trail offers wonderful ancient trees and flora, a tumbling stream plus a gazebo full of woodland poetry. Loved the Gruffalo trail and fairy garden too!

Lovely walk around a woodland area. Brilliant green space, with a little river, gruffalo trail and a fairy trail. Remember to look up at the trees! A hidden gem.

We came across this by chance when we stayed locally. What a wonderful surprise. Woodland walks are always a delight and this is one of the best that we have visited.
The welcome was genuine, friendly and helpful. The paths are well maintained and the guide and labelling explains everything that we needed to know. Plenty of places to stop, sit, take in the occasional long distance view, or enjoy the peace, quiet and solitude. Even though other people were enjoying the surroundings, rarely could we hear or see anyone else.
It is not a particularly long walk - there are shorter options which we didn't take - but we were surprised to find that we had been absorbed for a couple of hours in total.
The gentler uphill climbs, the twists and turns through the trees, the steeper stepped descents and the delight of finding new things make this a real woodland adventure. We were by ourselves on this occasion, but the grandkids would have loved it too.

We really enjoyed our time here. We spent about 2.5 hours in the gardens with two
young children.

My 6 year old boy loved the gruffalo , my 3 year old girl loved the fairies and we enjoyed the views!

The lady at the entrance was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She also gave us some useful information about our onward trip to Inveray.
