Peter Pan Park is Neverland for All
The Peter Pan Park is a magical outdoor space to enjoy with all the family on any dry day. The park is a nostalgic play area for children of all ages (and their adults too) to play at while additionally housing wood carved figures of Peter Pan, Hook and the Crocodile. We were able to spend over an hour with the little one there climbing the boat shaped climbing frame and the swing. There's also significant grassland available for picnics, dog walking or general playing games with the kids; football, rounders, etc. The surrounding area also houses a lovely green space which is great for walking around and admiring nature. My favourite aspect of the Peter Pan Park though is the beautiful scenic views of the mountainous landscape which you can see from the grassland and play park. Although ample car park space available on a quiet day, I can see it not being enough on a busy day. Ultimately though, if you are wanting a scenic outdoor space to enjoy or an activity to keep the kids entertained, this is one place I highly recommend.

    Impressive playpark
Visited this with a 13 month old and was really impressed with it. He was too young for the majority of the park however and could only really use the swings but the main climbing frame is excellent for children good in their feet. Great big expanse of grass at the side of the park for kids to run around on and no sign of litter or dog muck anywhere. Car park isn't massive but we never saw it full when we were here.

This Is a Great Area for Kids
Drove there last weekend. Great Spot for parking one's motor ... Free of Charge. You feel at one with the world on top of the truly majestic Kirriemuir Hill and even the kids playing in these environs must be exhilarated by the most wonderful views of the lower Grampians. Rain, snow or shining sun ... Its always busy at the Peter Pan Playpark.

I never appreciated the value of a good play park until I had children. Fortunately, this one is within scooting distance for me. Its very good for children 4-9 like mine. Well maintained and I often see the concil workmen testing the rides early mornings! Children in Kirrie tend to be nice too.
Its a shame that the council ran out of money. There was supposed to be so much more on Kirrie Hill and the plans were impressive. But what happened to the barbeque area? the new car park? the mound with the viewfinder? the wild flower meadows? Answer: the council ran out of money. Shame too the cricket club folded. A few gripes too about what is there... Not enough for younger children. The park was built in Germany! Even though we have a company that makes timber childrens' play parks at the end of the road! The granite rocks came from China! Truly.
Good ... but could have been great.

Happy Easter Monday on The Hill of Kirriemuir ... car park overflowing with the vehicles of revellers, picnic tables families-filled and the Peter Pan Playpark absolutely hoochin' wi kids of all ages ... schools still off. It's the true beginning of Summer and it looks as though it could be a long one. The Camera Obscura is on at the highly popular Cricket Pavillion ... what a great place on a great day for outdoor activity. And the views of The Big Hills of Clova provide just the best back-drop for a day in the April Sunshine ... Scotland Still Forever.

Being from an extremely protective corner of Canada where government feels compelled to remove anything that could cause injury to kids from playgrounds and parks, this was a ray of sunshine. Kids were having a ball and seemed to be totally unaware of the risks they were taking on the zip line or the wooden platforms with railings that wouldn't meet our codes and ladders made from wood that could give them slivers. We had a wonderful time exploring the wonderland playground.

Fantastic weather, hot and sticky, upon the top of the 500 foot Hill of Kirriemuir, fully fledged with fun lovers, one space left in the car park; Neverland Awaits.
Two grandchildren run for it, leaving the wife and I sunbathing in our cabriolet's seats, the joie-de-vivre all around almost palpable. We give up on the bliss of it all, and amble through the crowds of happy picnickers, chatty dog walkers, fellow sunbathers, noisy kids, frantic young footballers, et al, up to the truly wonderful ship-like structure that is the essence of the playpark to find our wee lads delighted, safe and impervious to our presence in their world-space.
What a success this park has become.
In the words of old Oleta Adams... "GET THERE IF YOU CAN."

Walked up to Peter Pan park from the town centre this afternoon with my wife to have a look around. It is a fair hike as it is at the top of the hill!
Primarily we thought it would just be a kids play park as we had never been here before and didn't quite know what to expect.
However, there is much more to see than just the play park.
As we approached the park, on the right is a cemetery where you can visit the grave of J.M. Barrie. Then of course the kids park itself which is called 'neverland' - this was busy today with families when we visited. A bit further on is 'Wilkie's Shelter' with an information board telling of its history. Next along the path is a 'Standing Stone', all attractions in the park have information boards explaining about their history. We quite liked the legend's tale about the Standing Stone! There is a Millennium Woodland, BMX track, cricket pitch, picnic areas and vast areas of open spaced greenery too.
All themed around Peter Pan as the markers around the park have Peter Pan depicted on them.
Peter Pan Park is also home to the Camera Obscura. This was closed today and is only open during the summer season, so if you are interested in this attraction you would be best checking beforehand to see if it is open.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the vicinity as there is a lot to see.

I took my 4 year old grandson here after hearing from local Kirriemarians that it might fill a few hours of these seemingly endless summer holidays. First thing to note was the good car parking area, and the availability of good, clean public toilets. There was a large area of grass for us to play on, paths leading to and through the adjacent wooded area, and a signpost to the grave of JM Barrie. The park was clean and tidy, and obviously safe for children to play there. There was a lot of other families there when we visited, and it is very obviously a popular and well attended attraction. There are wonderful views towards the glens and spectacular views across the Strathmore plains. There was so much to entertain us, a pirate ship, zip slide, climbing frames, crocodile statue, wooden carvings of the main characters, and so much more! Just a great place to spend a few hours, and next time we'll take a picnic and stay even longer. Highly recommended.

This attraction is every child's ....or child at heart's dream. Life size wooden ship, swings, bouncy roundabouts, zip wire slide, and loads of sand to make you think the ship is stranded.

We watched the children playing here and listened to shrieks of laughter.....it was when most of them departed we had to have our go. More shrieks and screams and laughs as we remembered childhood days. We are over 40!!!

Great fun, great play park within a lovely massive greenspace (Kirrie Hill) ideal for ball games, dog walking and playing, picnics and just watching the world go by.

And if you like a Camera Obscura, then they have that too, generously donated by JM Barrie, Peter Pan's author.
