Nice gardens, lovely walk round, great place to spend a couple of hours, the whole area is both remote and a great place to visit

This is a really wonderful place. Huge gardens with plants from all over the world, kitchen gardens, pinewoods, and the House itself is now open and well worth a visit, if only to see the way the NTS have interpreted it. Behind the house in...More

These gardens are beautiful, interesting and incredibly diverse. We visited in late October and there were still lots of wonderful things to be seen: the landscaping is fascinating. This is well worth a visit if you are anywhere in the area.

Second visit to these NT gardens. No midges this time but also not many flowers out in late September. It was also raining which made the paths slippery. It we had had to pay we would have been disappointed but as we have seen it...More

What a truly beautiful garden. We have visited at various times of the year and have loved the gardens in all seasons. The opening of the house is an added bonus. Definitely worth a visit.
