We were on a cruise that originally was to tender at Stornoway Islands, however the inclement weather required the captain to modify the itinerary to tender in Portree, Isle of Skye. While I am sure we missed some nice sites in Stornoway, we have always wanted to visit Skye so the change was welcomed with no regrets. The change was short notice so the cruise line could not organize any shore excursions thru the ship. I reached out to Tourskye.com the night before asking about a tour. Unfortunately our internet was spotty so the prompt reply (8 minutes after I emailed them) from Robert did not appear on my phone until the next morning at 8 am. He told us that there were several requests from our ship and to meet at the town square at 9:30 am as they have a 16 seat bus and if enough people arrived they would do the tour. We rushed to the tender and made it in time and what a wonderful tour. Robert provided his knowledge throughout the trip as we drove to multiple beautiful sites including past Old man of Storr, a stop at Kilt Falls viewpoint, the Quiraing (from both directions), the Fairy Glen, a museum, and a pub stop for fish and chips. Our favorite sceneries were the Quiraing and Fairy Glen. The scenery is spectacular and a must see when in Scotland if you can make it to the Isle of Skye. Robert was a wonderful guide and highly recommended for our all day tour.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. When you called I answered the phone, your cruise ship changed ports due to foul weather. I organised a bus for you or you would have been stranded in Portree with little to do. Glad you enjoyed the day. Stay safe.

The one-day full tour of Skye from Portree is the perfect way to explore the island on your own. It would take days to see all the wonderful spots of Skye by pulic transportation, quite rare and almost absent on te weekend, or by car which is relly annoying and unfriendly for the environment. We had a great group of people and our tour guide, Rob, was extremely fun and well-informed about everything on the Island. I was traveling alone in October and I enjoyed the best experience. Everything in the program, maybe better. You can walk, take your time, and you don't miss anything, all in relax. Highly recommended.

Wonderful all day tour hitting the highlights of Skye. You could spend a whole day at most sites but even only having a brief visit is worth it. Our driver/guide Martin did a fabulous job of making the morning weather of 50 mph winds and driving rain part of the experience with his humor, detailed knowledge, and enthusiasm. He managed to turn a nasty weather start to the day into a good thing. If you don’t have a car, this is a grand way to see the highlights of the island and even if you do it’s a terrific overview. If you have several days it can help you figure out where to spend more time. Every site is a highlight! Thank you Martin for our wonderful day and for posing with my “hairy coo”!

I was scheduled to go on the "Best of the Isle of Skye" tour in May 2020. Of course, that did not happen due to COVID-19. I contacted the company for a refund or voucher 4 times, both through email and Facebook messenger. It is now December 2020, and I have not received any response and cannot find any information about the company offering refunds or vouchers. Even if the company is not offering refunds or vouchers (which would make them the only business in Scotland I booked with not doing so), the radio silence is completely unacceptable. I do not trust this company and would not book with them.

We recently took a one day tour with Tour Skye to Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle , The Fairy Pools, Portree and Talisker Distillery. The stops on the tour were all interesting and well worth the visit. The real star of the tour, however, was our tour guide Peach @lochnessmonsterglass. We have taken many tours on our trips to Europe, and the experience that Peach provided us was among the very, very best. She is a natural as a tour guide due to her outgoing personality, humor and her commitment to an excellent customer experience. She was full of local knowledge and presented it in a way that never seemed scripted. The tour was given from her heart and her true love of the Scottish Highlands was evident. I learned so much about the history, the geography, daily life in the local villages, and the biodiversity of the beautiful area. I was blown away with her ability to answer questions and share detailed and very interesting facts about each place we visited. She was funny and warm and genuinely cared about our experience. She was a conscientious driver and always was looking out for our safety and comfort. She is so committed to her craft as a tour guide that she does research at local libraries to get the history of the area 100% correct. That type of dedication to her clients and the people of whom’s history she’s talking about is so commendable. Everyone on the tour was so happy to have Peach as our guide. She is the standard by which a great /fantastic/ amazing tour guide should be measured. I will definitely seek her out as a guide next time we are in the Scottish Islands and I will highly recommend her to anyone. I know who visits the area

Very bad experience. The bus broke down 2-2.5 hours into the trip and the driver said the tour is over and we have to go back to the starting point. We even asked if another bus could be arranged or not and the driver said that it not possible. I have multiple witnesses that can back my claim including the driver. In this case about 11 people including me and my wife left for Portree on a city bus as we didn't want to go back after going so far. Later when we requested for a refund over a email the no one replied and after calling the owner said the bus got repaired and tour continued. We were not contacted about the repair and the tour company is telling us that we left so we will not get a refund. The owner is telling me how can we contact you (in this age of internet and connectivity) When the driver clearly said the tour is over and we do what we want the owner is telling us that it our fault we left. The company owner is rude and racist towards Indians. After three emails the company is not replying and refusing to co-operate. Better go with other tour companies. Try Rabbies tours. Heard they are much better. Tour Skye owner is very rude. If there is a problems your money is gone.

We took the Best of Skye Tour from Portree.
The driver arbitrarily decided to skip Neist Point as he claimed that there wasn't much to see due to the rain. Yet, the sky cleared, but we still had to spend a couple of hours in the same place, without much to do but visiting the Duvengan Castle (entrance ticket not included in the tour). No alternative was offered and there was no possibility to negotiate even a view of from the van.
Similarly, he decided not to stop at The Old Man of Storr, without saying anything.
When we contacted the customer centre to complain and ask for partial refund, they answered in a very unpolite, unprofessional and aggressive way, conveniently claiming some safety grounds for the driver's decision not to go to Neist Point, which yet were never mentioned by the driver himself during the tour.
Last but not least, the driver had an aggressive and extremely fast driving style (and we found also difficult to enjoy the landscape, because of that). And it would have actually been great to have a driver who also actually is a guide, and not someone who just says things like "ok, we are here, you can enjoy, have a walk, and some good coffee or whisky" and very little more.

We did the one day tour from Inverness to Isle of Skye. Starting with the positives - the tour was as described and our guide (complete with Scottish kilt) was engaging and energetic (referred to himself as Thor). The sites were beautiful but I suspect that the photos of the fairy pools on the website were photo shopped to add color. The fairy pools are found at the base of a series of waterfalls. Be prepared that it is not really a life changing view as some websites have advertised. The guide took us to see some Highland Coo up close and definitely made sure we had sufficient rest stops. The Eilean Donan Castle was really the highlight of this tour - make sure to speak with the guides! They are great! I had two major negatives about this trip. First, the space on the bus is far too small for even an average size adult and none of the power outlets worked (since this is a 12-hour trip, I view this as important). There was less leg room than an economy flight (which I didn’t think was possible). Second, my air pod case must have slipped from my bag during the trip. Within about five minutes of the bus leaving, I realized this. I called the operator’s cell phone, had the case make a sound to alert the driver, sent an email offering to come get the case wherever it might be located and NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. All I can conclude from this is that this operator will take your money and will not give you a second thought from that point forward. Even if they had emailed me to say they couldn’t accommodate my request that would have been better than ignoring me completely. Given the tight quarters on the bus and the absence of any seat pockets to stow personal belongings, I found the absence of any response to be completely unprofessional and frankly, unkind.

What an absolute treat to have Paulina as our tour guide. Paulina is not only knowledgeable about historical facts and legends but also current knowledge of Isle of Skye and Scotland. Paulina answered lots of questions and was able to relate to everyone on the tour in such a way that she made you feel like you were valued and part of the Tour Skye family. Paulina is enthusiastic and full of energy, with a great sense of humor. Paulina is a seasoned tour guide who enriched our experience. She was very caring towards my disabled mother and helped her where she could. We also wanted to thank Paulina for her wonderful driving skills.

We took the tour from Inverness to see the fairy pools. This was a bucket list trip for me and it was amazing! Rob was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. Our daughter could not stop talking about the stop to visit the "hairy coos". Highlight of the ride home was the whole van singing "500 Miles".
