    Amazing sustainable distillery!!!
It is very interesting learning about the distillery and how it used to be a town. One of the few Islay distilleries that predominantly make un-peated whisky. The distillery also recycles their "draff" from their whisky production to power their bio-mass generates to power the distillery. It is nice to see this sustainability. They have a big selection of whisky to buy that they have experimented with different types of casks too.

    Bunnahabhain a go go.
Can there be a more suitable and descriptive name than Bunnahabhain, meaning in the Gaelic "mouth of the river", with the distillery on the shores of the Sound of Jura at Port Askaig. A mouthful of golden, peaty nectar that is Bunnahahbain, is like tasting the fresh water from the "River mouth.distillery is nestled to ar a beautiful, bonnie setting looking over to Jura and the Paps of Jura. Time wasted enjoying yourself here is not time wasted. 🥃

    Stunning views, stunning whiskies
Bunnahabhain was top of my list on my visit and we made it our last stop of the day. I'd pre-booked a tasting in the visitors centre so we didn't do a tour which I regret. The timings for the tastings were a bit weird - in other distilleries you'd just go and order like in a bar whereas this was prepoured. We did get talked through the drams before we drank them but I'd have liked a bit more info maybe written down to read through as we drank. If I went back I'd definitely do the warehouse tasting instead. The staff were lovely and welcoming, despite us being on our 5th distillery of the day. They must have infinite patience with tourists. The visitor centre view is incredible across to Jura. If you like bunnahabhain definitely go. It's truly stunning and a great place to visit. I went back the next day (sober!) To pick up a bottle I should have bought the day before.

    Historic Whisky Distillery
Katie was our guide and she was amazing! She was knowledgeable about the whiskies, how they were made and why Bunnahabain in particular is special among all whiskies. She was also entertaining and funny! On the whisky distillery tasting we tried four amazing drams with one aptly described as having taste notes of sticky toffee pudding and it did! Our group bought a bottle of that whisky and some very nice merch.

Distillery Tour & Warehouse 9 Tasting
Absolutely stunning views, fantastic whiskey & amazing staff! I'm a huge fan of Bunnahabhain, so this was a must visit while we were on Islay. The distillery tour was great fun, but the Warehouse tasting felt very special. Highly recommended for any whisky buff as it really highlights the barrel influence while sitting in amongst those very barrels. Huge shout out to our guide Andy, who was informative, entertaining and an all around good sort.

Bunnahabhain - great tasting experience, difficult to spell after the tasting :)
Warehouse 4, sorry 9, tour with Andy. Great experience and some lovely whisky being tasted. Andy had a lot of knowledge on whisky in general and Bunnahabhain in particular. Was a pretty interactive experience (although that may vary depending on the group you're with) but Andy had a way of coaxing info out of people. One of the experiences we were looking forward to and it didn't disappoint.

    Awesome place
Awesome place! We went to a few of the distilleries on Islay and this one was far the most personable and genuine. The actual distiller is on hand to give tasters and describe the whisky. Doesn't feel over commercialized and the view is stunning! Whisky is also delicious :)

    Whisky Tasting at Bunnahabhain
The whisky tasting is well worth the time. I have done several distillery tours over the years but most of them skipped the barreling stage and this one was very informative. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic (David Brodie) and really made the time fly. The whisky was great too. The new visitor center is great too with the most amazing views out to Jura (a great selection of whisky for sale too - some numbered/limited runs that I am sure would be hard to get elsewhere). Highly recommended.

A visit to Bunnahabhain is highly recommended - both the whisky and a visit
If you go to Islay, you must visit the Bunnahabhain distillery. In this spectacular setting you'll find welcoming and knowledgeable staff and the whisky is pretty good too! Sampling a few drams on the terrace on a sunny afternoon with a view across the water to the Paps of Jura is a wonderful way to pass the time. And while you're there, be sure to book a distillery tour. An hour or more in the company of an expert is money well spent.

    Special warehouse tasting
Four of us took a taxi to Bunnahabhain for the Warehouse 9 tasting - and it was a magnificent experience. As far as distillery settings on Islay go, this one is one of the most spectacular with a stunning beach and view to Jura. Mark took us on our Warehouse tasting and he was absolutely brilliant. Extremely informative and a fantastic storyteller who not only knew everything there is to know about Bunnahabhain whisky, but had an audience of Scotsmen, Welshmen and Polish visitors in the palm of his hand! Won't spoil anything but the four drams were very special indeed. Lovely shop too with an excellent selection of items and we were able to try another couple of drams. A phenomenal experience.

It was great to go back and visit my favourite distillery on Islay. The weather was stunning and we enjoyed a nice walk on the beach before our tasting. When we entered temperatures were taken and health and safety disclosure was filled out. Great to catch up with Billy Sinclair and Colin Stroud again.

We then headed down to warehouse 9 for our tasting. 4 good size drams drawn straight from different casks. Colin was entertaining and informative about the distillery and the art of making whisky.

For what we got it was well worth the £40 paid. The selection of whisky available in shop is outstanding as well.

This distillery has just opened a new on-site shop. We visited during covid and this was the only area of the site which was open - but most other distilleries on the island had completely closed to the public. No tours, obviously.

They offer a range of their own whiskys for sale including some with little peat - which suits us better. Some souvenirs too

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good parking facility. They are right on the shore and have their own pier, although the use of that is not clear,

This is my 2nd trip to Islay, the first four years ago was with my old man. The first stop off the ferry was Bunnahabhain, I’ll be honest I didn’t know much about this distillery, but fell in love immediately. Roll on 4 years later and I’m back with my wife. Again 1st stop off the boat was Bunnahabhain. So due to COVID there are no tours or official tastings. However the new visitor centre is open. It is one family at a time and a one way system. But wow what a selection of whiskies they have to purchase. If you’re really polite they’ll even let you try what ever they’ve got open as well. The little 20cl bottles of warehouse 9 hand fills are a special treat and are very reasonably priced. The icing on the cake was i got to catch up with Billy from 4 years ago (formally of Caol Ila and Lagavulin). One the the real Gems of Islay and I would recommend all whisky lovers to visit!

I was the only participant since 3 other visitors had cancelled their visit. Instead of asking me to come back another day a very friendly guide took me to the warehouse for a 'private' tasting. That's what I call service! I got served five really fine drams, some straight from the cask, some limited editions.
Unfortunately at the time of my visit the first of the two old buildings at the shore had already disappeared due to a vast modernization. I am afraid the distillery will lose its charme of a run down workhorse which I really appreciated.

The Warehouse 9 tasting was fantastic, the range and quality of the four whiskies sampled completely different (and far, far superior) to what you take home from the supermarket. Our host was both hilarious and informative . The location, by the sea, is spectacular with great views towards Jura.

As it was a glorious day, we walked from Port Askaig; the distillery website suggests 1 - 1.5 hours. It can be done, just! The session was a bit longer than anticipated, entirely a good thing, but allow plenty of time.

Brilliant session. Although we didn’t tour the distillery. We did out tasting in a whisky cellar. It had great atmosphere, the whisky tasted amazing snd got good sampling sizes, the best part and what made the session was David, he was so knowledgable and made it very relaxing and was a bit of a comedian. It was a fab tasting and worth trying.

Just got back from the Bunnahabhain warehouse 9 tour with our host Colin and got to say out of all the whisky tours I’ve been on (which is quite a few) this was by far the best and all down to Colin’s great personality and delivery. His knowledge mixed with fantastic humour made the tasting! The drams were really great and we got a free glass with the tasting. Great value, great drams and a bit of stand up comedy throw in! Thanks Colin!!

Bunnahabin is a fav whisky for our son, was disappointing that Covid affected a holiday booked a year ago. Understandable Precautions in place & only 1 family group allowed in shop at one time with one way system in & out. No tours & no facilities available atm. Distillery accessible via narrow long bending road with many passing places. Bunnahabin is further on than Ardnahoe Distillery, don’t go in to first Bunnahabin gate, drive further on to main visitor entrance car park & shop.

Having visited 11 or so distilleries on our travels, I can honestly say the whisky tasting tour here was the best.
Colin was our tour guide, and it's fair to say his whisky measures are not for the faint hearted! His enthusiasm, knowledge, and sense of humour were truly one of the highlights of our holiday.
Even if you don't like whisky, a tour with Colin is worth the money just for the entertainment alone! If he can't covert you to the world of whisky, then no one can!
Absolutely brilliant time, and a pleasure to meet you.

A great tasting experience at their visitor center (though it's a little small indoors) with our group of 10 (tour group through Rabbie's). The outdoor seating is also very nice with great views. We had a nice tasting and enjoyed our visit.
