Great local brewery with its own unique craft brews! Casual and family friendly atmosphere including air hockey and corn hole games.

This brewery is a hidden gem. It is off the beaten path but an excellent example of what the foothills of Tennessee have to offer. They give you a taste of the region with unique brews that are fundamentally palatable. Their selection is second to none and their knowledge of beer rivals any sommelier. This is a great warm up for Foothills Milling or Blackberry Farm without being pretentious.
Cheers.

Bluetick is a great place to chill out and have a couple beers. They have great bands that come play and awesome food trucks. It's just what Maryville needed! Keep up the great brews! Cheers!

I was on my way to Pigeon Forge for work and was looking for a place to check out since I had time to kill after flying in. This place is close to the airport and was highly recommended. Time for a dose of reality from an "out of towner". Let me preface by saying that I love craft breweries, especially ones that are up and coming but are still really small. I thought this would be awesome based on the reviews, but they need to make some changes if they want to get anyone other than locals to visit.
First, just finding the place is next to impossible at night. I'm submitting a picture I took of the sign. It's on the side of a building (the brewery is down an alley) and there is no light on it. It took me a good 15 minutes of circling the block and reading the numbers on the other buildings before I finally saw the dark sign and ventured down between the buildings.
Once I arrived, there was nothing going on. It was a Thursday night (I guess there's no college crowd around) and there wasn't one other person in the place other than the 2 or 3 employees. It was about 10:05 and their website says they close at 11pm. I can understand closing early if you have no business, but I thought they could take 5 minutes and give me a welcome and explain their beers. Instead I was on my own. I really don't like "causing a scene" so I picked one of their house beers, ordered, drank it quick and left. I really wanted to try their Honey Cream Ale, but it wasn't listed on the board. One the way out they were taking down a tent outside and one employee yelled "Thanks for stopping in!"
I'd like to think my experience was an anomaly, and with the other reviews here it probably was. Regardless, the first impression is important. At the least get a light on that sign.

This brewery can be a little hard to find, but it's worth seeking out. It's at the round about on Broadway in Maryville, right behind the used bookstore. It's a great new brewery. I've been several times and it seems like every time there has been different beers on tap. They brew their own, but also have an excellent guest tap selection. There is also a great selection of bottles and cans, and you can buy a mixed 6 pack to go for only $10! I noticed they also sell homebrew supplies.
They don't serve food. but I was told you are welcome to bring your own. They have a food truck set up outside every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday seems to be their busiest day, it's when they put their weekly batch of beer on tap.
I really liked the atmosphere and the people I met there. The bar tenders were super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about beer. The locals all love this place and consider it the epicenter of the craft beer community in Maryville. If you are looking to check out the local beer scene, look no further.
I can't wait to go back!

The Bluetick Brewery abruptly shut its doors in February 2017. Although there was some suggestion that the brewery might relocate, no further information has surfaced. I would love to see the Bluetick resurface with a friendlier space and better beers. We'll see!

We went there with another couple that had been there previously, liked it and wanted to return. BB brews their own beer and has 2 or 3 others on tap-about 7 in all or more. There is no food but there was a food truck outside. Don't know if the food truck is always there but one can contact BB to find out. There was a Blue Tick hound roaming around, a very friendly dog especially if you had food. BB was very informal and a nice atmosphere. There was a band there too but that might of been because we were there on a Friday night.
There is no table service and you go up to the bar to get your beer. They run a tab and you leave your credit card.

Wanted to check out the local brewery. Very pleased with the beer. The environment is limited with a strong odor of the product being made. Not your high end craft brewery but its worth the trip for the beer. We were there in the afternoon so not sure what the evenings offer. There was a steady flow of people. No food, just beer .

Dropped my husband off here so he could sample the beer. Didn't open til 4pm but when I came back to pick him up at 7pm the place was hopping. Even some families. They even have cornhole in the back. Nice people.

This microbrewery is about 20 min from Knoxville in Maryville TN. The feel is small town America 20 years ago (maybe 30..) I expected the General Lee to pull into the parking lot at any moment.
The brews are excellent, although they were out of several of the homebrews. From the look of their operation, they are experiencing growing pains resulting from their own success. They have a nice variety of other beers on draft, including some southern brews I had not heard of. So the overall experience was a good one. Wishing them good luck in 2014.
You'll find local folks around the picnic tables to chat with and the Mascot dog (a Bluetick Hound) kicking about. At first he appeared to be guarding the front door, until a local pointed out he is watching for customers with food! He's a nice boy.
Note: They had a gourmet food truck stationed outside and there are a few places to eat (from local diner to the usual fast food) within sight of the brewery if needed.
Will return again when I find myself in the area.
