Amazing place - rich with history. We felt privileged to stay here. Fantastic experience overall. World’s largest collection of battle-fired flintlock pistols dating back to pre-American Revolutionary War. Eisenhower stayed here four times - once during his presidency. High tea & ghosts too!

This was bought as a day trip for two as a birthday treat, and it was such a very nice treat. Lovely drive down the driveway towards the coast, ample parking around Home Farm too. It was a dreary, damp and grey day but the...More

The National Trust for Scotland offers two guided tours a day and otherwise visitors can self-guide. Our guide was adequate, but of the sort who has learned the story and tells it decently well, but with little personal insight or expertise. THe contrast was painfully...More

Pity it was raining as didn't get chance to look round the beautiful gardens or see the view out to sea. However looking round the castle was both interesting and worth the visit. Take the guided visit. The guide Gemma was informative and welcoming. Would...More
