The Bealach na Ba road is a must for anyone in touring the area. The road is single track with hairpin bends raising to a wonderful view.

We stayed at the Applecross Inn for the final two nights driving the NC500 anti-clockwise. Having watched a BBC Scotland "Landmark" review of the drive and, specifically the pass, last week we were starting to think we may have made a mistake in planning to...More

We have been both up and down this road. Either way is amazing. The views from the top lookout are stunning if you are lucky enough to be there when it is not foggy. BE CAREFUL and take it slowly. It's all about the journey...More

I drove the Bealach na Ba Road and visited the Bealach na Ba Viewpoint with a bunch of friends in our TVR sports cars when on a tour of Scotland. The road is fabulous and the views are stunning. Fun to drive in a TVR...More

One of the best driving roads in the UK with fabulous scenery - to be taken with care as not all users are considerate - some will roll past a passing point and will not back up even a short distance! That said, it is...More

It wasn't a clear sunny day when we drove over this pass, but we still enjoyed every bit of it. Truly stunning scenery. Probably not a good idea to do it in driving rain.

Did this at 8am one weekday morning. Met two cars coming toward me from Applecross and had no one behind. Saw them coming from far away, flashed my lights to let them know to come through. They came past giving me a friendly wave. It...More

I'm writing this to calm those who might be afraid to try this road. I have a nervous disposition in a car so when I tell you it isn't truly terrifying, you can believe it. There are a few steep grades, and hairpin turns. We...More

Coming from Australia where you can cross the Nullabor without turning for 1200 kilometres this experience was "off the map". The single lane road has its challenges particularly as there are many different interpretations of the rules of the passing lanes. Ensure you understand the...More

One of the most breathtaking drives for scenery. But be forewarned, even if you don't like single track roads (there are plenty of pull out places to squeeze by oncoming cars) or blind curves or steep hills and decent, force yourself to make the drive...More
