Description:

We provide information and interpretation on the history of the Caledonian...

We provide information and interpretation on the history of the Caledonian Canal, as well as an activities booking service and gift shop. Come and learn about the canal, sign up for some canoeing, whitewater rafting or canyoning, and take home some unique souvenirs made by Scottish designers and manufacturers. We have maps and information on how you can travel along the length of the Caledonian Canal, or the Great Glen Way between each of the stopping-off points, how long it will take, facilities, etc. The canal and lock gates outside our door make up the living museum which is the Caledonian Canal.

Lovely gifts.

Super staff, now more of a shop. We would have liked more information. When the staff realised that we were information/fact hungry they gave us very informative leaflets.

Not too bad describing the history of the Loch, although a bit of a tourist trap. Interesting all the same.

Pleasant little place with some interesting information about the canal and it's construction, even if it is more of a shop than anything else (good quality gifts not the usual 'tat').

Large selection especially for a smaller shop. My son bought a dirk, my daughter two collectible boxes and I got a Celtic wall hanging.

Lots to find out about the Caledonian canal and the area and friendly staff. There are also quite a few books and some souvenirs in the little place.

The centre is next door to the 5 locks on the canal. These locks are a must to see when visiting Fort Agustus. There was no boats passing through the locks but still interesting for the visitor. The centre was well organised with friendly helpful staff. Would recommend a visit to the centre and locks. The locks flow into Loch... More

Visited on a beautiful day and popped in the Visitors centre. We then walked around the 5 locks which are truly amazing. They are well kept and a joy to see.

The impressive canal locks are second only to 'Neptune's Staircase' near Fort William and details are given of the planning and the construction phase. The new shop needs more volunteers it seems as it was closed at first due to lack of staff. The shop was well stocked with a somewhat expensive selection of toys and a pricey range of... More
