    Snowboarding
Had a refresher lesson today after not being on a snowboard in over 2 years. Denise was a great instructor and really patient with me. After a few runs and it all starting coming back to me, Denise was really motivational and was really trying to bring the best of my ability to the slopes. Would highly recommend get a lesson here if you are thinking of starting snowboarding or even if you just need to get back into the swing of it. 😁

An excellent time to be had.
We bought a Groupon voucher for my teenage son and a friend to give this a go. They both absolutely loved it and would like to give it another go in the near future. Full price is a little more than we'd like, but as a gift for an occasion (or with a voucher), this is well worth a try.

    Great service from Waheed
Waheed was a fantastic server who really enjoys his work. Made Mother’s Day a special treat and was great with the kids. Waheed took the time to get to know all our names and addressed us individually including the kids Food was delicious. Quick service. Good night for all

Booked 30min sledging session today at a cost of £46 for 2 adults and 2 young children. Attempted to drive there but motorway was flooded and conditions were extremely dangerous. We heard on radio that road was closed ahead so we had no choice but to turn off the motorway and return home. We telephoned almost 3 hours before to cancel but were refused a refund. I am sure our timeslot would have been sold again as schools are on holiday this week and place would have been busy.
Thanks for your understanding Soar. Wont be back !

Bowling experience was fine, staff very nice. Cafe is vile. I paid £10 for a sharing platter of watery breaded mushroom and greasy onion rings. Absolutely disgusting, I am not at all fussy but I could not eat it and feel robbed. £7 for two orange juice and lemonade, day light robbery.

We attended a sledging session as our young children aged 3 and 6 were desperate to come here and try it out. We attended and unfortunately the experience was overcrowded at maximum capacity. On two occassion due to poor instruction from staff supervising the session my 3 year old was struck by following sledges. The staff had no control over the high numbers. To be honest we were lucky to leave without a serious injury.

Bought tickets for the bowling with our Tesco Clubcard Points which meant we had a family of 5 for 2 games FREE!! Brilliant. My friend and her daughter wanted to join us and nearly fainted at the price for them both. Anyway, the bowling games were good fun but it broke down a couple of times as the ball kept sticking which was annoying as we had to get a member of staff to help. Good fun but for 8 people definitely need 2 lanes as it was too slow. Still enjoyed it and no need for the old smelly bowling shoes anymore thankfully as you can wear your own shoes!!

Spent a full day learning to ski with our instructor Scott. Thoroughly enjoyed it! We were in a group of 10 people. He made sure to take the time needed with each of us to make sure we were doing the various exercises correctly. And was always on hand to answer any questions and give advice. Would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about learning to ski! Most of us were comfortable with the top of the slope by the end of the day which was great fun!

This place is filthy. We, as a group of 5 adults cane in to a lane after a younger couple. The mess left was disgusting. Burger wrappers and juice cartons etc. I was about to go and complain when I realised that all the lanes where the same. During our hour there no one came to clean up anywhere. Won’t return 🤢

As a complete beginner I was extremely nervous. After 2 lessons (Gav and Ian) I am amazed at the progression! I feel so much more confident. Both instructors were super patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. They spent time explaining everything and gave me extra help when I needed it. Thank you so much guys!

Hubby and I went skiing at Xscape at Braehead in Glasgow. Stena Line run day trips from Belfast for £45 per head which includes all coach transfers, ski and boot hire and two hours skiing. (I think the cost of 2 hrs skiing at Braehead is £31, not sure if equipment is included in this price, clothing hire extra). Inside Xscape in addition to the snow slopes there is also a 22 lane bowling alley, 12 screen cinema, a climbing wall, 4 or 5 shops, a bar overlooking the snow slopes and several restaurants.

The changing area is a good size and you can hire clothing as well as skiis, boots etc and there are large lockers which cost £1. Any of the staff we had dealings with were helpful, friendly and cheerful. When you go into the slopes there is the main slope on the left and on the right there is a much shorter slope divided into three for beginner skiing, beginner snowboarding and tobogganing. However, if we had gone for tobogganing we would have been disappointed as the slope is just too short. For smaller kids however, it would probably be ok. We both were given quite good skiis and the boots weren't too bad. They didn't hurt my shins quite as much as those I'd hired on my skiing holiday. However, if you have your own boots, take them along. If you suffer from sore shins, a good tip is to put a sanitary towel down the front of the boot to protect your shins!! If you do not take your own gloves I think you have to buy a pair there because I don't think you are allowed to ski without them. The slopes are kept at about -5 but doesn't feel too cold because you don't get the wind chill factor. I wore my woolly hat as well but I didn't really need it. Proper ski gear is a must because if you fall over and are wearing jeans and knitted gloves you will soon feel wet and uncomfortable.

When we were there it was in the school holidays but it was very quiet on the slope which might have been because the weather was nice. At one point we had the slope to ourselves but at the most there were about two dozen people there. The slope is served by a button/poma lift on either side but only one was open because it was so quiet and we didn't have to queue at all. However, in places under the lift the snow had worn away and the matting underneath was showing through which made parts of the lift run very sticky. I thought the lift was ok but my husband found it quite tiring on the legs. You can get off the lift about halfway up to ski the easier part of the slope but the whole slope would probably be equlivant to an easy blue run with a bit of a dip and a bump in the middle. The bottom part would be the equlivant of a nursery slope.

The slope would be challenging enough for those who have just learned to ski or for those who have perhaps had one or two skiing holidays. I imagine it would be much too boring for advanced skiiers but it is useful for practicing your technique in between skiing hols. Personally for us we wanted to see how much we remembered from our first skiing holiday in January and to keep skiing and practicing until our next ski holiday in 2007.

In all, it was a good day out and we intend to go back a couple more times at least. There is something for everyone if snowsports aren't your thing. After we skiied, we had food in the Mexican restaurant on the ground floor which was good. A shared starter, two main courses and two large glasses of wine came to about £28.
