Cold and Bright

We had frost, fog and sun for our walk and it was brilliant. Great photographs and so quiet and peaceful.

Lovely bracing walk, average fitness required as steep in places but worth it for the wonderful views

Parked at the lower car park which gives a short walk in to the Birks. Took the clockwise route which provides superb views. An added bonus is the 'small stones balancing' on top of each other in the river ~ sited next to Burns' statue ~ well worth a look. The gradual stepped incline can be hazardous when wet, so... More

The Birks of Aberfeldy is an amazing place to go for a stroll. The scenery cannot be beaten. The trees are amazing any time of the year! It is a good workout but it can be enjoyed by young and old. Anyone visiting the area should make time to visit and sit on the stone that Robert Burns sat on... More

It been a while since we went to the Birks of Aberfeldy but I doubt much has changed even since the days of Burns (who was inspired to write a poem about the place more than 200 years ago). Well they’ve constructed a trail and put a sculpture of him in the woods since his visit but otherwise it’s still... More

This is a must see for everyone in Autumn. It was amazing and stunningly beautiful. Only caution is that there are lots and lots of very steep steps. Definitely not for wheelchair users or those with heart problems.

The entrance to the walk is in the centre of Aberfeldy and then a short walk up to the lower car park and then the walk starts. We went the anti clockwise route which worked out quite well as it got the steep climb out of the way and the walk down was easier on the little person and teenager!... More

We started our walk from the dedicated car park. A riot of Autumn colours, really beautiful. A gentle 3.5km walk, would recommend walking boots/approach shoes just because it is quite slippery on some of the steps (obviously at this time of year). Really enjoyed it, I'm not a real 'walker' but it wasn't hard work and it was well worth... More
