Enthusiastic staff, and so much information and items to see. not to mention the visit to the tomb which means you get to walk along some of the coastal path (the Tomb is about 10-15 min walk from the car park along a track).

We didn’t plan to visit this, but thought let’s give it a go and drive down from Stromness. What a gem! First of all, one is given a superb talk by very knowledgeable experts about the 4-5000 year old site, and the more recent Bronze...More

Very interesting neolithic tomb - well worth the visit. Have to lie down on a trollet to get in - but that just adds to the fun.

Before setting out for the tomb we were given a very clear and personal tour of the museum by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. The tomb itself was well worth the half hour walk in driving rain and strong winds, and the unusual skate board...More

‘Driving rain and strong wind’ looks like an unexpected bonus! Glad it didn’t dampen your experience. For those visitors less well equipped, we can provide waterproofs, wellies, hats scarves and gloves if needed. Thanks very much for sharing.

I would recommend this place for those that like ancient structures and cool walks. Along the way, check out the flower name markers.

Very interesting talks before the walk out to the tomb. Plenty of ancient bits being passed around. In many ways I preferred this to Skara Brae, it was a bit more accessible and homely in the way that corpses being picked clean by raptors can...More
