I have walked the paths and woods to see some nice wildlife the views are wonderful and very calming, if you enjoy a good quiet walk and fresh air the paths around the lake are great.

Stopped here for a break during our journey as it's located right by the motorway, what a mistake! Half of the park seemed to be closed off, there were no amenities open and the rest of the park was a muddy mess. We looked for a picnic area and found 3 picnic tables which had all been vandalised and were such a mess that they couldn't be used. What a dreadful place there is really nothing at all to recommend it.....sorry!

South Lanarkshire Council need to seriously install CCTV all around fine culprits and reopen toilets remove graffiti and make park for people who respect public parks and those who have ignored nature and strewn litter along lake length of park - tyres, kids toys and food drink all been discarded and I wasn't served a cooked sausage with hot dog so didn't eat and was not happy with service overall.

Our family of four (the kids are teens) met with another of similar ages to take a walk around the lake today. The location is good as it is close to motorways and major roads so getting there is pretty simple. There were plenty of people about, but not too many. It was still easy to keep up social distancing while walking the full distance around the lake. Trees, grass, lake, ducks, swans, geese - all in all very pleasant. It is worth noting that M&D's is closed, as is the café at the boating area - although, when we looked online before setting off, this did say it would be open. With these areas closed, there are no toilets in the area for public use. There was an ice-cream van in one of the car-parks so some refreshments were available.

The park is of absolutely no use to those without cars. I went for a walk around the loch(northside). Disgusted that both sets of public toilets closed, can only imagine what people are doing on finding this out. Certainly round about the toilets smelled of old urine. It is a large park and on something this scale you would expect there to be at least one public conveniance. Am sure.the council are aware of this, and do nothing. Can see myself only returning during May to September which is the only time the toilets are.open.
