This beach goes on for miles in a long sweeping crescent, and has boulders, rocks & pebbles by the grassy dunes, and then a wide swathe of fine white sand to explore , when the tide is out. As it’s a windy area facing out over the Moray Firth it’s popular with windsurfers amongst other water-sports. Also, because it’s also part of the Findhorn Bay Local Nature Reserve keep your eyes peeled for seals 🦭 around the mouth of the Findhorn river, and a large variety of seabirds. The vibrantly painted beach-huts bring a touch of the Mediterranean to a northern shore. There’s a large free car-park beside it with access to the boardwalk , & public toilets. I’d suggest taking a windbreak if you plan on spending time on the sands , as it can fairly blast here. And binoculars for nature watching.

The beach itself is great for getting a long walk - there are cafes at the Burghead where you can relax and have a coffee before walking back to Findhorn.
However, like all the beaches in this area it is ruined by dog owners. I have tried most of the main beaches aong the coast and this is one of the worst. The reason being dog walking companies seem to be using it and arrive on the beach with 6 or 7 dogs at one time which are not on leads and left uncontrolled to approach people. Would the council please please seperate the beaches into dog and non-dog beaches.

Beautiful beach but absolutely appalling access road. The car park is fine but the road is almost impassable with deep craters for almost the entire length. As far as I can see the road was supposed to have been repaired in 2021 but it must have had some very heavy usage or the people that did the work were not very good. We have been to beaches all along this stretch of coast and also in Angus in the last two weeks and this is by far the most shocking state of any track we have been on. No wonder the village is so busy and I was fool enough to keep going, twice bottoming out on the deepest craters. Been here several times in the last two years and not seen any improvement. Next time I will just park in the village.

Beautiful beach real shame about the findhorn community foundation. Not friendly to campers even though we spent £120 in shop and 70 pound in cafe. Continually challenged about overnight parking reason given people toiletingbin dunes. We have fully functioning toilet shower etc? Winter be back wouldnt recommend

Truly the most beautiful beach I’ve seen . You may also be lucky enough to see the very much loved seal colony.
There is also a lot of water sports and tours available . Though at the time of my visit this was limited due to Covid 19 restrictions

Outstanding location with sheltered bay and open firth beaches to choose from. Gorgeous location and well worth a visit if you are in the area. We had great weather (despite forecast of thunderstorms) as I have had almost every time I have been to Moray firth.
What are you waiting for? Go!

I went last May to this wonderful B&B in Findhorn, Scotland. The room I had was excellent and downstairs you had a relaxation room which had some very good books as well. The first night I was in this room, after reading I fell asleep. Maria was a great host and I felt so relaxed there. The rooms were clean as was everything. Breakfasts were delicious and you had as much as you wanted! I would definitely recommend this B&B and I will be going there again.

This beach definitely has something for everyone! The main beach is great for wind sports then there's beautiful sandy beaches and just around the bay it's great for paddle boarding and swimming. Parking is super cheap too at only £1 all day.
Definitely one I'd return to.

We wandered along the beach ending up opposite Culbin Sands. We could hear the most amazing sounds, which we discovered was the seals grouping together for the night on the sands. I have never heard it before, and it was just such a wonderful experience.

Lovely beach with car park close. Dogs enjoyed their time running around the beach and having a good time. Some very cute beach huts made it feel very welcoming and fun. However not accessible for all as there is a long bumpy path from car park to beach along with some steep steps down from sand dunes to the beach. However would recommend if in the area.
