This walk is a lovely 10 minute walk which takes you from the car park to the castle. There is lovely views of the surrounding mountains and the sea, there is also a small, beach (covered in pebbles). We also had a little walk around the village where the castle is, which also a good place to take photos. However the castle is a lovely walk and is a good photo to take!

Lovely spot, with the loch and hills encircling you. Delightful even on a grey day. Easy to park (and I have a motorhome) and wander round the outside of the ruin taking in the views while the dog paddles. Highly recommended.

This is a nice little castle situated in a nice wee village with beautiful scenery. Unfortunately it was closed when we visited, but it was still quite busy.
There are a few info boards outside the castle and a few benches but not a lot of parking due to boats being parked up on grass verges and it was extremely muddy due to the rain.
Hopefully get to visit again to see inside. Worth a stop!

This castle stands proud near the ferry landing and the distillery on a quiet stretch of the Arran coastline. Good photo opportunities even though it is a ruin. Well worth a visit and a wander especially on a nice sunny day.

An interesting drive to get here from Brodick. The castle is imposing even though a ruin, standing on its outcrop. It is so quiet in this corner of Arran that you wonder why a castle was ever built here. A good strategic spot, I suppose.

You can drive right up to the ruins of this centuries old castle. I loved it here. The position and outlook are beautiful. Unfortunately you can’t get inside now, but can certainly imagine what it once was. It is very well maintained and there’s even some picnic tables if you want to relax for a while and enjoy the stunning views across the bay.

This is a ruin of a castle situated in lochranza amongst the water and mountains. Cracking photo opps in any weather. Seal watching if you are lucky. Such a beautiful spot to stop at on a trip round island.

The castle is a ruin with no access to the interior. That said its location is fantastic with beautiful views out over the water and the surrounding hills. Worth a stop if you are travelling through Lochranza.

worth stopping to take in this lovely natural harbour at the northern tip of Arran and the deserted (and blocked up) Lochranza castle on the shoreline.
