Another trip to Blackwaterfoot - no riding was planned but the disappointed look on our daughter's face reminded us what was wanted. Dawn fitted us in and the ride along the beach was a big hit.

Had a wonderful ride on the beach on Katie a delightful Highland pony. Highly recommended. Can only imagine the negative reviews posted are from very inexperienced riders. Owner is caring and very concerned for animals well being and rider safety.

Awful, took my child for a lesson. NEVER AGAIN. Was left really hurt, humiliated and upset after being shouted at sworn at. Just what you would never want for your child especially when on holiday. This behaviour came from the proprietor of the business. Through talking to other people on our visit, we are not the first to experience this,... More

Myself and a friend recently went on a trek at these stables and from the beginning the owner was a bit rude, however our concern was her method of chastising the lead ponies for misbehaving. Throughout the trek at certain points the ponies were hit with the lead ropes on their noses. Having sought advice from my cousin who trains... More

My friends and I went to the stables in good sprit wanting a fun day, the weather was nice and it was a great day to go along the beach. From the start we were made to feel uneasy! We were told certain horses couldn't go near other horses or "all hell would break loose" so this made us a... More

We booked in for the younger kids, and everything was ready for an 11:00am start. After all the paperwork was done we were advised 3 more riders were on their way by bus from the mainland and had been delayed. The owner delayed the trip for 45 minutes to allow for their arrival. We were kept fully informed, and for... More

This is a lovely riding centre- I count myself very much a beginner (only ever been pony trekking on holiday as a child) but the 1 hour ride was really enjoyable. The centre is impeccably kept- staff are polite, kind and are continuously keeping the place clean and tidy. Ponies are all friendly and obviously know the ropes! The ponies... More

Our 5 year old wanted to go riding, so decided he could this try this on Arran. Dawn was great, from when we booked till we left clearly explaining everything to us. The stables are immaculate and horses all well cared for. For his first pony adventure, a trek across the beach and golf course with a lovely pony called... More

My friend and I went on an hours trek and it was fantastic as always. Great instruction, horses and wow scenery. The weather was perfect and riding along the beach made the whole experience very special, especially as my friend has never ridden on a beach before. Thank you Cairnhouse riding centre, we will be back! Xx

We went for an hour's trek which took us along small tracks and across fields with a little bit of roadwork. I can ride but my partner is a complete beginner and owner Dawn made us both feel very welcome. We both had a lovely time riding safe and willing horses and my partner got to trot a few times...
