Outlander Film Locations Day Trip from Edinburgh

96 reviews
The crumbling castles and rolling highlands of Scotland provided a dramatic backdrop to scenes from hit TV show Outlander, but unless you know exactly where you’re going, they can be difficult to find. Travel between dispersed filming sites with ease on an Outlander location tour from Edinburgh, which lets you skip the stress of car hire and navigation.

Lovely place and well worth a visit. Sadly only the gardens open at present due to the restrictions. Felt very safe. No pre booking required, lots of nice gardens to wander in. Not many people. Small shop, friendly staff. Parked on the town which is very well kept and picturesque. It would be a full day out if Palace was open

Despite the rainy weather we went to these gardens and they are truly beautiful. We didn’t get inside the palace, I’m not sure if that’s an offer or if it was just off due to COVID. Free entry although there is a donation box which I recommend using for the upkeep. Would visit again.

We visited to palace gardens which have been maintained in excellent condition. There are plenty seats and benches which allowed us to sit and view the gardens at our leisure. We had our lunch sitting at the tables in the orchard.Unfortunately the shop and cafe were closed due to the virus, this is strange as all the shops and cafes in the village were open, . If the Trust requires to raise funds then why close their biggest fundraising enterprises.

The Palace was right opposite our accommodation and was a real find. It was so peaceful and offered ample opportunity for walks further on.
