The palace is small enough to feel homely. Information is available in the rooms and staf are on hand to answer any queries. Well maintained gardens and for tennis lovers the oldest tennis court in Britain. Enjoyed the visit.

Fascinating historical visit, very well explained by volunteer staff. We had no idea of it's importance to Scotland, and it is in the herat of the village.

I believe you can wander around the gardens without visiting the castle.

Hi, thanks for the enquiry. The Palace & Gardens re-open on Saturday 28th February. Mondays to Saturdays 11am to 5pm, Sundays 12 noon to 5pm with last entry at 4.30pm. Full details are on the NTS website - just search for... More
