My girls (aged almost 11 & 14) thoroughly enjoyed this - I booked them on a hawk walk (60 mins bird of prey experience). I cannot recommend it enough; my girls loved it, they learnt so much from the knowledgeable falconer and it was definitely worth spending the extra ££ for the experience. The Harris Hawk the girls flew was stunning - clearly very well-trained and in beautiful condition (as were all the animals and other birds); it was clear the centre really knows how to look after the creatures in their care. Other highlights included the brown bears playing in the water, the wee otters that were also out playing, and the wolves and wildcats. The baby deer were clear favourites too, of course! All in all, one of the best summer holiday days out I have had with my daughters.

We visited as a family of 4 with a 7 and 2 year old. The park is wonderful-plenty of animals to see and many up quite close. There are a few picnic areas, one under cover in a barn. There were plenty of places for refreshments and toilets too.

We found the rangers really made this park-every one we bumped into took time to speak to us and tell us more about the animals and they were really enthusiastic about their subject.

There were a couple of play parks - one in the woods and another in the barn and again this added to our enjoyment.

We found the entry fee to be very reasonable compared to similar attractions and would definitely recommend this place!

Loads to do here, First thing is see the deer, as it is a deer centre. Lots of variety 13 if i remember correctly but could be more! we also saw the wolves being fed and a very interesting talk from the keepers. The bears were also out in their pool and were very frisky before and after feeding time. We caught the birds of prey show, both the owl and falcon were awesome; Plus full marks to the keeper doing the talk all the way through with no mike on a very busy day and a good crowd watching. One of our favourite parts of the day was the Asian Otters what a pair of characters with the talk by the keeper was excellent. Still the star of the show was the Wild Haggis, not seen one before but be careful, boy do they leave a nasty nip! A great day out for all with lots for young children as well with playparks and plenty of things to do. A great asset to the park are the staff so friendly with lots of info about the animals in their care.

We ate twice here once at the crepes bar down at the wolves and playpark. They were very good but a bit messy, wipes will be needed with children. We also ate in the cafe in the square before the entrance to the park. The food here was also good and both were reasonable value.

never been but my partner was keen to go to see deer close up. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the birds of prey displays. the birds compound is being renovated so hopefully be able to see more next time. now the not so good... as had been said £2.50 for 20p of deer pellets is not cheap but certainly worth it for the kids, big and small!! we had booked and paid for tickets online but still had to queue for over 20minutes to sign in/receive paper tickets. all the food outlets had lenghty slow queues, even for icecream. both of us had worked in hospitality for years and our comment was - most inefficient place ever! maybe we got it on a bad day but it was midweek even if school holidays. bring your own picnic and enjoy your time here

My partner and I love a wildlife park of any kind and really enjoyed our visit to the deer center. We arrived just in time for the first birds of prey demonstration at 11 am and finished our visit to the centre with the final birds of prey demonstration at 2 pm, both were well worth watching. The park had guided tours on but we ventured around on our own and managed to spend about 3 hours there. The deer feed was £2.50 a bag but it's not often you get to feed deer. It's well worth taking a picnic as prices in the park were surprisingly high.

Definitely worth a visit, something for everyone and the birds of prey demonstrations were incredible, especially the later one.

Just visited with our two grandchildren 4&7. We luckily arrived as a guided tour was to start. Rowan our guide was very knowledgable about the animals and tailored her talk to the children as a result our grandson now shares his new knowledge of deer to everyone he meets.
The animals appear to be well looked after and the facilities in good order.
Well worth a visit.

We have visited The Scottish Deer Centre previously and it was a fantastic day out. During the start of the pandemic the centre was closed so it was great to be able to have a visit with my friend and her little boy and my daughter too. It was a wonderful day out from start to finish. So much beautiful deers and other wonderful animals to see. You can spend many hours looking at the wildlife in the park itself. You can get the chance to feed some of the deer too. The centre is easy to find, it has ample parking. Access is moderate for those with mobility issues. In the colder months I recommend cosy clothing and wellies for going around the park. Limited seating around the park for those that need to rest as it is a good bit of walking to see all the animals. The bear hibernates late autumn and winter so be aware of that. Though the deer, wild cats, scottish cows and the wolves are great to see as well as the array of beautiful birds. We visited in the run up to halloween so they had a pumpkin patch. So we bought pumpkins from there. A wonder around the shop as we were leaving too. A great day out for everyone. I love this place and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Really enjoyed our visit. Deer were beautiful, and saw lots of other animals including wildcats, wolves, and otters. The birds of prey display was very high quality, lovely birds and really funny guy doing the talk. Plenty of play equipment for children, lots of picnic areas (including an indoor one). And the crepes were a really tasty addition. Very much enjoyed ourselves.

For the money you pay, this was a really lovely day out. Lot's of deer to see and bears, wolves, wildcat, birds of prey and otters! Plenty of play park apparatus and a JELLY BELLY! For only a few quid more you can take a trailer ride through the enclosures. This is particularly nice as you get up close and can feed the deer from your hand. The tour guide Yvonne made it enjoyable and fun and this is definitely the best way to see the deer. The onsite food and drink options are surprisingly inexpensive and there are plenty picnic tables if you prefer to take a packed lunch. You can easily send a whole day here if you want to. All the staff were friendly. A nice budget friendly family day out.

What a wonderful place. Interesting animals friendly staff who are very knowledgable about the animals in their charge. Great place for families with kids and so refreshing to find a facility that is prepared to help struggling families by offering an option to ‘pay what you want’ for entry. Unbelievably generous.
