I adore this harbour. The views are amazing and ots good to watch the birds and stuff like that. The harbour walls are very high and its far down to get the water.

Beautiful village
Sep 2021
This is a lovely village to wander around on a sunny day. Best to park near the museum and walk down to the harbour - it is quite a steep walk but there is no parking at the harbour. There are a few lunch options to choose from

Freshly Cooked Lobster!
May 2021 • Couples
Crail Harbour is charming as are all the harbours of various sizes on this coast.
However, if you visit on a Saturday or Sunday between 12 noon and 4pm the lobster shack will be open. You can get freshly cooked whole lobsters to take away as well as crabs. He also offers lobster or crab rolls & soft drinks in cans.
We had a couple of lobsters cooked for us while we went for a coffee & scones in the cafe just up the road (see separate review) & collected them on our return.
What a treat!

Great day out
Oct 2020 • Family
We parked near the swing park and walked along the sea edge to the harbour with out 4 and 2 year old . Both loved looking in the rock pools for shells . At the harbour itself their is a sandy beach that the kids enjoyed. A nice little cafe was doing takeaway tea and coffee due to covid. Still a nice day out despite restrictions on what's open in the village. Would visit again.

Ok but not great
Oct 2020 • Family
We popped down to Crail Harbour and were left feeling dissapointed by Crail Harbour. The beach was not very clean and the smell of sewage was disgusting. There seemed to be a nice Cafe at the Harbour but the smell of sewage made us just want to get out of the harbour asap

Quaint but Wilted
Sep 2020 • Family
The epitome of Fife's fishing heritage with its short winding road from the main Street down to the harbour and waterside. One or two gift shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, galleries and accomodations leading down to the very petite harbour and a few small boats. Small sandy beach next to the harbour adds to the scene. Quaint, memorable harbour but it all feels a bit tired and wilted.

Whats not to like
Sep 2020 • Couples
what an idyllic beautiful unspoilt traditional harbour. Whats not too like. Still a working harbour with small boats catching crabs/lobsters. There is a small hut selling dressed crab or lobster but can run out fairly quickly depending on the catch.
Also on the way down the cobbled street there is a small tea room which offers tea/coffees plus cakes/scones. While abit pricey were following social distancing rules and given the interrupted trading season good to see the tea room very busy.
We secured a table outside at the back which was great on a sunny but windy day as this area is well protected from the wind and indeed was actually very warm.
Nice experience overall.

Picturesque Harbour
Sep 2020
This is one of the many picturesque East Neuk harbours. Crail harbour is quite small but has lovely harbour walls and the village itself is lovely.

Picturesque Harbour and Village
Sep 2020
We visited Crail village while walking the Fife Coastal Trail and honestly, this is one of the most picturesque of all the harbours and stops along the way. The harbour seems to be a popular stop too as there's plenty of choices for cafes and restaurants. Even though it was a cloudy day, the harbour still look amazing. Add to that the idyllic village feel.

Lovely hysteric harbour
Sep 2020
Really pretty harbour with lovely old buildings all the way down to it. Great wee cafe on the way down called the Crail gallery and cafe. Shack selling lobster and dressed crab so you can sit around the lovely old stone harbour to eat it, if you like.
