Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Trip on the boat was nice and informative of the Isle of May. The Isle itself is lovely and that was even without the Puffins which I imagine would be amazing ( Puffins are there from about April to July ). A Great day out and Anstruther has many fish restaurants you can go to for Lunch/Dinner.

Thanks for taking the time to offer us an excellent review. The Island is a stunning place even when the Puffins have left for the Winter.

We were very lucky with the weather last week and got a tan in the second week of September on the boat. One of the highlights of our Fife and highly enjoyable and informative.

We experienced a dreadful journey going to the isle of may. The sea was very rough and the boat was being tossed about like mad. It was up and down like a fiddlers elbow. Plenty of people were being sick. My wife was hit by a wave which left her absolutely soaked to the skin from head to toe. And the journey back was little better. Yet the crew were absolutely fantastic with her and all the people who were sick. They genuinely cared about them and did everything they could to help them. They were a credit to both themselves and their company. And despite being disappointed that all the puffins had left the island, the island itself made up for it. It is absolutely beautiful. So peaceful and tranquil. And the seals were fabulous too. There was one who we were told was a yearling, who was incredibly curious about the boat, and it kept swimming around us and putting on a show. It's the first time I've been to the isle of may, but it definitely wont be the last.

Booked on a whim during a few nights in Fife as we fancied an adventure and ours usually involve boats. Very clear and easy booking and boarding instructions. The whole setup was really slick and we felt very safe in this delightful new Covid world. There were plastic screens, loads of hand sanitising stations, as well as social distancing measures in place. The Captain’s commentary was informative and interesting without being intrusive, allowing you to enjoy the boat trip as well. His boat handling skills were particularly impressive given the narrow channels he had to navigate, not so much as a bump! The island itself is very peaceful and you can see plenty of evidence of the Puffins who spend their summer there. We’d missed Puffin season but enjoyed seeing the seals fighting each other for rock space. The 3ish hours we had on the island were a really good time frame, plenty of time to explore and have a picnic before heading back to the boat. The visitor centre has toilets and baby change as well so you’re not left looking for a bush! The boat snack bar sells tea/coffee/hot choc/cuppa soup which was very welcome once back on board to warm up a bit after braving the wind. Thoroughly good day out. Would highly recommend. Make sure you take a bag for your litter as there are no bins on the island, and that you don’t leave your nice camera and zoom lens at home or you’ll miss some great wildlife shots.
