Long sandy beach
Aug 2021
This is without doubt worth a visit and the walk from the car park was short to the beach, which was long and sandy with great views of the Bass Rock.

One of my favourites

Ravensheugh, or Tyninghame Beach as it used to be known, is one of my favourites. The walk from the
car park isn’t to long, but it’s well worth it. A long stretch of golden sand and dunes, views of the Bass Rock, and an endless stream of gannets and other sea birds fishing. Heaven.

Large patch of sandy heaven
Oct 2020 • Couples
For my wife and I there is nothing better than a big deserted sandy beach on a windy day and Tyninghame Beach ticked every box for us today 09/10/20.
After parking up and paying £2 parking fee we headed off for the beach. We decided to take the route that took us to the rocky section and from there, we walked around to the vast expanse of deserted sand.
Very occasionally we saw someone in the distance but for the vast majority of the two and a half hours we spent on the beach we felt as if we had it to ourselves.
During our visit enjoyed the views over to Bass Rock and also just watching the waves hit the beach.
The beach definitely deserves 5 stars but I would like to award only 1 star to the dog owner, who failed to picked up their dogs big yellow poo 💩 from the path, which I unfortunately stood on. Everybody else appears to respect the area. Why couldn’t you.

Vast expanse of peace

In less busy times this place is stunning. Limited parking which is a blessing!
Vast expanse of beach and so clean. Can walk for miles and buffered by dunes.

A great example of an East Lothian Beach
Aug 2019 • Family
Visited here with the family and its amazing. The area is great for camping and exploring all along this section of coast along with lovely rock pools and shallows to explore. The water is great for swimming and this whole section is great for a walk. As the beach and walk from the carpark is quite flat, its great for children and even with my mild arthritis I was able to keep up. What a lovely place to go. Be warned though the car park is very narrow so might not suit large cars and its quite popular during the holidays so isnt the issolated getaway some people have described it as.

New Years walk

What a stunning way to start the new year. The walk is very picturesque and is popular with all ages. Particularly good for dog walkers.

One of the Best Beaches in East Lothian

Great place for a decent walk through woods and then the beach. Less busy than the more well known beaches, so good if you like some peace and quiet.

Good cafe in the village after bracing walk.

Favourite beach
Jul 2018 • Family
Been coming here for years with family, fantastic open space walking with dog and in my opinion the best beach in area.
Takes some finding if you don’t know the area, but well worth it. Council charge £2 to park.
It’s a good trek down to beach but try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Stunning views
Apr 2017 • Family
It's a bit of a walk from the carpark and has no facilities but the views are absolutely spectacular and well worth a visit.
