We popped in for a cuppa on way back from another outing. Smashing slice of cake and Earl Grey , nicely served by a well presented young man. We then had a short stroll, it was bitter cold and the light was fading, but we walked over the Avenue Bridge and back. You could sense the commitment to developing the... More

I have visited Dumfries House several times and it just gets better each time. You can walk around the lovely landscaped grounds and gardens, we take our dog and just enjoy the estate (no entrance charge). The cafe is very good and reasonably priced so it is a good day/half a day out. Very good for children as has an... More

Spectacular and unrivalled collection of early Chippendale furniture (they have the invoices to prove it) including a four poster bed and other beautiful furniture, clocks and carpets all located in a substantial Palladian country house set in 2,000 acres. The gardens are a delight and include follies and bridges alongside a vegetable garden where local school children learn to first... More

Out with the extended family to Dumfries House gardens for a leisurely path based N'er day walk. The place is well signposted and very accessible with a generous car park. We spent a lovely hour crossing all the various bridges old and very new, enjoying the coiling paths and roads. The paths are all smooth ad accessible for all but... More

Great fun for the kids lots to do and keep them entertained. Lots of practical hands on skills that the kids can learn. Very busy as free only disappointment was the cafe closed😟

Dumfries House - What a lovely place. Shame about the totally useless Coach House cafe. Opens at 10 o`clock. Two recent visits at 10.15, and the last one at 10.45 for the Christmas Market last Saturday (Due to start 11 o`clock - Ha! Ha!) Like something hot in December, but on these three successive visits - no bacon for the... More

We had our wedding here on the 29th of October, the day went perfect from start to finish, Evan & his team were first class, I can't recommend Dumfries house highly enough. It has to be #1 in Ayrshire for weddings, they do 1 wedding per weekend which means it feels special, they have stunning lodges to accommodate your guests.... More

Once a Month the "Vintage Village" has made a commitment to visit Dunfries House and display Vintage.......... Fire Engines, Tractors, Trucks and other items of interest, the additional display is free and brings a New additional Dimension to the existing wide range of attractions on the Estate. The latest Fire Engine to attend was a retired CARP Combined Aireal Rescue... More

I have taken many weddings over the years but this location is perfect. The rooms, helpful staff, good food and amazing decoration all helped provide a wonderful intimate ambience for both the happy couple, family and friends. The Lodge allows family to be together for the weekend and gives the time needed to explore the extensive grounds and gardens. All... More
