My sis-in-law organised a guided tour for my brother's birthday. There were 9 adults and 4 young children and the whole experience was just amazing. The 2 guides were absolutely fab and so great with the children. We saw birds, searched for critters, pond dipped and played in the park. I overheard my 4 yr old daughter tell the guide... More

We have visited Castle Espie before and it is always a great day something different round every corner. There is a map and a trail for children to look out for different things. The staff in reception are very friendly and helpful. There are loads of birds and you buy seed at reception for them. They do say no bread.... More

Our first stop of the day was the Castle Espie Wetland Centre since I'm a total bird nerd. There was a bike marathon going on that delayed their opening, so we were just hanging outside watching the ducks for a while. But holy heck, this place was a bird lovers' dream. We definitely learned that loud birds mean babies are... More

A bird sanctuary that is worth a visit, though difficult to find - signposts are missing right where needed - so check it out on your GPS or Google maps before you go - though we got lost near the end even with a map! Bring your own binoculars (GBP 5 to hire from Reception otherwise), and also your bird... More

Spent a day here with the family in May 2016. 2 Year old son loved feeding the ducks and playing in the play park in the forest. Cafe was nice and clean and reasonably priced and the buns were tasty!

Had a lovely visit, could do with more static binoculars around the site. The restaurant was very good with goats cheese tart to be reccommended.
