After a lunch which was mediocre, but quite pricey for what is was, we purchased a few plants and pots. The staff are very helpful, especially in the cafe, but I wouldn't rush back to eat or buy from there again.

We went to Holme (The Orchard Tea Rooms) for what is usually our every now and again treat and met up with another friend who had not been before.
We envisaged spending a good hour or so pondering over what is usually very nice food and coffee.
We only got as far as having coffee and a tea cake because the doors to the lake area and the door leading down into the cafe, were both left open causing an awful draft and very windy. We did ask a young man if the door to the lake could be closed which would have helped, but was told that because of the times (Covid) the doors had to be left open for ventilation. I could understand if the place was really rather small but it is a large area and I'm sure just to have that door closed, leaving the middle door open would've been sufficient. So unfortunately what we were hoping to show off to our friend, our lovely cafe that we enjoy so much, was a very brief visit today.
We went to find another warmer place.

The gardens were lovely, that’s why I’ve given it 4 stars however it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Twice I was nearly tripped out of my chair because of deep ridges covered by grass and the journey around the gardens on grass was very uncomfortable. There were very few concrete level paths.

Found purely by chance while staing in Winfrith holiday cottage. Wonderful plces chatted to owner in car park before going in. Amazing gardens and garden centre well worth the entrance fee. Lovely cafe to sit and enjoy tea and cake too. highly recommended if you love gardens

I love seeing these beautiful gardens improve every year, and there's always new areas to explore. The garden centre is excellent and they give really good advice on choosing plants for difficult spots. The cafe is really popular with locals from miles around, and the farm shop is full of goodies!

Over the years I have visited many times and as each year passes significant improvements and developments are being made. To appreciate what is now on offer and especially for a first time visitor allow several hours to wander around the excellent garden centre, shop and beautiful gardens. Today, my daughter and I sat by the large pond and enjoyed a delicious cream tea. The owners must be proud at what they have achieved here.

I was invited to an evening Soiree by some friends and what a joy it turned out to be, my thinking was country amateur and how wrong could I have been.
Emma Aldir sang a dozen or so songs and introduced the "Top Notes Theatre" Choir, Peter Warbis and Chelsea Robson.
The selection of songs and the way they were put together told a tale of love found and lost, a familiar tale to us all.
The show was beautifully produced and Emma's singing was exceptional as were her co-stars and the youth choir.
The setting was in a grass amphitheatre which was an incredible venue for an event of this nature.
All in all a wonderful evening and I look forward to many more.

Brilliant, spent an unexpected 4.5hrs looking around the Garden Centre, the wonderful gardens (which at £5 entry is great value), the beautiful Cafe and its setting, and the Farm Shop. A lot of work has been put in to making this a whole experience, don't allow just an hour or 2, it is not somewhere to be rushed. We will be back.

Went to Holme gardens today .Have they changed hands ? Been there many times before to the cafe . The plates have shrunk ! The fish & chips looks more like a child’s portion . The jacket potato with salad , well no salad just chopped up coleslaw . The potatoes used to taste great ( not anymore ) no tasty skin . It wasn’t as busy so it told a story . Even on a rainy day it use to be busy . Please go back to the way you were

So happy to return - lovely plants, great shop and excellent cafe...
We'd come for some specific plants and found them, then browsed the spot-on shop, and rounded off our visit with a light lunch in the open air, on the pond-side patio. Tasty and good value, plus excellent friendly service. Excellent coffees too.
Our only regret was not having time to visit the gardens, (£5 entry), but we'll go again soon - the photos look great.
Parking was easy, with a row of disabled parking bays near the entrance. Apart from a slope as you approach the cafe indoors, everywhere is pretty much on the level, and the staff went out of their way to make my elderly mother's visit easy and enjoyable.
