If in the area this is a great activity to do with friends or family. It is a great introduction to paddle boarding completed in a very safe environment in such a beautiful location at a reasonable price. Me and my girlfriend booked in for the 9am slot on a friday morning & it is super easy to park at the location as its a national trust car park (£7 for 4 hours). Staff were very welcoming and got us kitted out really quickly and down in the water (group of 7) ready for the lesson. The lesson itself was great fun with a very good group leader who taught us the basics and then taught us some fun tricks (I got very wet doing them). We were out on the water for the entirety of the lesson. Overall a great experience. With there currently being no changing facilities Fore do provide somewhere safe for your personal belongings such as phones, wallets and car keys. There is also great cafe on the beach serving food if your feeling hungry after some time out in the sea! Thanks Fore!

Well, me and the other half have never kayaked before, but always wanted to, so while on our holidays in Dorset we decided to book the half day old Harry rocks experience with Fore Adventures. The booking process was very straight forward and easy, with lots of information on the website. To say we were both looking forward to it, is an understatement. The day finally arrived and we made our way to the hut in middle beach car park. Bonus for us as parking was free, being national trust members. We went for the morning session, which i would highly recommend as the place gets busy when the weather is good. We dropped on the weather too as it was mid 20’s.
We were met by Dan, our guide, who was larger than life, very light hearted and knew his stuff. Being first timers, we were a little bit apprehensive, but Dan immediately put us at ease and went through some of the basics. It was then time to hit the water. There were i think 10 of us in the group, including us two, so not too many people to have to worry about social distancing.
We set off towards the right and regrouped at the Pill box and Fort Henry, which were part of the d day landings practice run. The going was really steady, so no racing off and being left behind. We saw a couple of Peregrin Falcolns, and nesting Cormorants. Old Harrys rocks were great, and even better viewed from the water. We went further along the coast line, before turning back towards old harry. We then made land and stretched our legs for a bit while Dan gave us some more details about the different types of seaweed there are. You can clearly see how passionate Dan is about his work, and it all makes for a much better experience. After getting back in the kayak (the right way), we steadily made our way back to where we started.
We both really enjoyed our first time kayaking, and can highly recommend Fore Adventure to do it. Dan was a top guide, funny, knowledgable, and safety conscious as well.

We had a great time with the family on the shorter 2 hour session with Jenny and Ollie sea kayaking out to Old Harry's Rocks and back. Our two boys 11 and 8 enjoyed the trip and we actually got out of the kayak on Harry's Rocks, which was great. Jenny was very enthusiastic and kept us all going, even paddling back against the wind with the little ones, more as ballast than paddling power!

Definitely recommend it, all kitted up with an instructor is very safe for the kids, to be honest I think we didn't go out very deep and if you did capsize you could always still stand up in the water.

Definitely recommend fore adventure for your first ever sea kayak as a family.

I booked this for my boyfriend as a Birthday treat and can say that we were both so impressed with it. Our guide Elliot was so friendly and helpful. He was really well informed about the local area and although I have visited Swanage multiple times before I still learnt lots about the coastline from him. We went right and around under Old Harry's Rocks and it was so nice to see this famous landmark from the sea level.

I think it is excellent value for money for what you get, I would definitely recommend booking with Fore and I will be looking at what other experiences you offer in the future.

Thanks again

KAYAK FISHING

Instructor (Kyle) was excellent and felt safe at all times.

Great fun and thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon on the sea. Unfortunately nobody in our group of six caught any fish (think they need to rethink the fishing grounds). I didn't even see any in the water!

I'm not a sea angler but I do fish a lot. I'd say that the fishing element is a little rudimentary and the methods don't really suit the area we fished - lead weight with feathers does not lend itself to shallowish rock-strewn water.

IMHO, if you want to catch fish do a fishing trip from Swanage or similar and if you want to kayak, do the kayaking with Fore Adventure rather than spending the extra on the Kayak Fishing.

Brilliant time this morning on the Half Day Introduction to Sea Kayaking led by Elliott. He guided us through everything with great patience and thoroughness and we all felt like experts in no time. We were really lucky with the weather and paddled along the coast to Old Harry rocks was just amazing. The price was very reasonable for the adventure we had and I cant recommend Fore Adventure highly enough

My 9 year old daughter and I had a great 2 hour Kayak to Old Harry Rocks yesterday. Thank you Ollie for being a superb guide. Being able to get out of the kayaks and spend some time at the base of the rocks was a brilliant experience, and then re-boarding the kayaks to paddle through a couple of the arches. The weather was exceptional, and it all felt really safe because we had excellent equipment, guidance, and the Studland Bay side is so protected from the prevailing wind and swell. Other family members are now very jealous of us, so they will be booking the same trip when we come back later in the summer!

We did the 3 hour trip out to Harry's Rocks and had a brilliant time. Our instructor, Roxy, was friendly and approachable and really knew her stuff and we were impressed by the careful (but not intrusive) social distancing and hand sanitising etc. The kayaking itself was brilliant fun and we loved getting out on the sea outside the bay but it was really nice to gain confidence in the very shallow and calm waters of the bay first. All equipment (including life jacket) provided. The views are fabulous and Roxy also told us about the history and wildlife of the area.

In case it's useful to anyone, we had no trouble parking (a Wednesday in late August) close to the hut and parking is free for National Trust members. We aren't members but it was easy to pay via an app as we didn't have change (I think it was £10 for all-day (or you could get shorter times for less) so arrive early or stay later and make the most of this lovely beach!)

Highly recommended.

My wife and I, and our two sons 13 & 15 had brilliant fun on our kayaking trip from Studland beach to Old Harry Rocks and back. I would like to give a big shout out to Harry, our friendly guide, who was really helpful and had some fun and interesting facts about the coastline. The trip begins at Fore Adventure HQ in the Middle Beach Car Park where we were equipped with wetsuits and helmets, before collecting our kayaks and oars on the beach. The calm shallow waters in Studland and amazing views have given us some fantastic memories and we'll definitely be back soon for one of Fore Adventures sea foraging trips. As newcomers to Kayaking I would recommend this trip to any family and the experience was good value for money.

The kayaking itself was good fun, however we were left dissapointed by the overall experience.
Be aware that if you're in a couple you will be given a double kayak and not have the option to both go individually.
We booked the forage, fish and kayak tour. This tour is not foraging, you will try some seaweed and have a very brief talk about 3 trees on the way to the beach. We had expected to be foraging along the beach or at stops along the way so were dissapointed to have ignored all the muscles/clams etc along the way.
We didn't catch anything (which is fine). However, the photos look as if you're using a rod but this is not the case, you will use a handline (which are old and rusty and don't have bait) so it's no surprise noone got a bite (which I'm told by the guides is normal). We were reminded multiply times by the guides that its 'a fishing tour not a catching tour'.
The guides were friendly enough but didn't provide any information about the location and got everyone's names in the group mixed up all morning. To be honest they lacked any type of passion and seemed to just be there for the pay check.
Old Harry rocks is beautiful and definitely worth a visit but I'd recommend finding another tour provider unless your comfortable spending £70 pp to effectively rent a kayak for 2 hours (as well as the £7 parking fee)

Dear Laura. We were very sad to read your review and to hear that your experience didn't match your expectations. We are sorry for this but do feel that we need to give some clarity to your points raised. The Kayak, fish and forage experience that you booked is on double sit on top kayaks using handlines. This is clearly explained on our kayak, fish and forage page on our website and again (in bold) on the booking page where you place your booking with us to avoid any confusion. There are also images of kayak fishing using handlines. There is a longer kayak fish forage and feast experience where you do get to forage further on land and then feast on the wild foods we gather but you booked the shorter trip, again we need to correct you that this is 3 hours long not 2 hours as you mention. The time constraint on a 3 hour combined kayaking, fishing and foraging trip does mean that every element of the experience is a taster, we do offer more comprehensive courses in each subject where you focus solely on fishing on our intro to kayak fishing trips or sea kayaking skills on our tuition sessions or foraging on our coastal foraging courses. We don't need to use bait on the handlines as we use lures instead, as we are by the sea your comments about them being rusty are quite true, we are in a salt water environment which does have an impact on our kit but the small amounts of rust on the hooks doesn't affect their performance and we replace these regularly, we carry out regular equipment check and will check them again since receiving your feedback. We will raise your comments with the guides and make sure they are aware of your review so they can improve their performance. As you can see from reading our other many positive reviews that our guides are usually praised highly on the effort they put in to give our customers the best possible experience and will no doubt take your comments very seriously.
