The best places - the best instructors. I took a Light & Land workshop on Skye and it turned out to be a truly marvelous experience. The instructor was a world class artist. A photographer of the highest rank - David Ward. I was surprised that someone of his standing was so friendly and approachable, A great sense of humor and an excellent teacher. The evening meal was especially remarkable; excellent conversation, good food, a chance to discuss ones approach to photography with one of the world's best. The after dinner meetings were stimulating and fun.
When photographing in the field, David would offer personal guidance and explain various composition possibilities. I know my photography benefited greatly from this workshop.
The group was small so that we were not fighting for attention or space to plant our tripods. It was a well run workshop. The folks in the home office were friendly and helpful in accommodating my special requests. I was well pleased.

I travelled with Light and Land to Norway and also attended a number of one-day workshops over the years. Trips and workshops are very well organised, itinerary and accommodation (in Norway) was excellent. The tour to Norway had 2 tutors, which I found very beneficial. Excellent advice and support was given throughout, and the trip was also very enjoyable with lots of fun.
I like to attend the one-day workshops in the UK as a means of getting to know a nice location or working on a particular aspect of my technique. Every time I have done so up to now, the tutor was most helpful. Will definitely book again.

I've traveled with Light and Land UK to Tuscany in 2015 and again in February of this year to Myanmar (Burma), both times with the same guides. I can't recommend them highly enough! Both trips were extremely well planned, we stayed in great accommodations, and had a wonderful time. The guides are terrific at helping you with composition and technical issues or leaving you alone to do your own thing if that's what you prefer. I'm hoping to do another trip with them next June, to Santorini. It's well worth traveling "across the pond" to take part in one of their workshops.

I'm just someone who loves taking photographs and takes photographs every day. I'm no expert but I'm keen to learn more. I chose this Light and Land week in Sark because I am a Guernsey person and it was so convenient on home turf so to speak. I loved the companionship and I was very impressed that we were given access to areas not usually on offer to visitors to Sark. For example such interesting barns full of delightful old tools and equipment and sheds full of things like old bottles collected over many years. Hence the heading of excellent travel agent/tour guide.
But when I was asked what I would like to achieve on the trip I said I always used aperture priority mode and wished to progress to full manual settings because I had some lenses which required the use of manual. I was told that this was not something they encouraged. End of photography advice and tuition. I have subsequently been on another (far cheaper) photography holiday organised by done one else and have learned so much. I will be returning there next month. I do not rate Light and Land S value for money at all. Very disappointed with them.

We have not had feedback like this before and we do take it very seriously. We will have a chat with the leaders of the tour to discuss their thoughts.
Once again our apologies.

Light and land holidays are perfect for keen photographers travelling alone. Fantastic locations, which have always been thoroughly researched to find the best hotels, attractions, times of day to shoot. Excellent leaders and always an interesting, like minded group of individuals to travel with. Meals are always taken as a group to share the experiences of the day and plan the next day's adventure.

I have now travelled with Light and Land on 5 photographic holidays (and have 3 more booked). Every one has been excellent and very different. The professional photographers are excellent leaders and provide advice tailored to individuals needs. The destinations are stunning and well researched and there is always flexibility with the itinerary to adapt to changing light and weather conditions

Enjoyed this Tour based in Borrowdale enormously, great bunch of people and Doug and Valda couldn't have made us feel more welcome, so willing to share their knowledge and experience and ensured we made use of every minute of every day. Accommodation was superb, a great break as well as the opportunity to explore the creative mind with ICM and multiple exposure.

I've just returned from a 2 night trip to Somerset with Benjamin Graham as our tutor. Absolutely great weekend. Benjamin shared so many of his own wonderful skills and experiences with us, knew the locations really well, went out of his way to ensure the diverse needs of the group were all met, spent time working with us all as a group and individually, coming up with inspirational ideas and lots of guidance on composition and technical advice. I will definitely be booking for another trip, hopefully with Benjamin as the tutor. Thank you for a great weekend.
