Victoria Wood once commented that she had walked the length & breadth of Downing Street & not found a single wool shop. They are a dying breed, but one exists in Bridport which seems to have a considerable stock & they will order in for you as well.

I popped in while on holiday and loved the selection of yarn, the friendly staff and the light airiness of the shop

This is a beautiful shop, full of gorgeous wool of every type. The only problem for knitters and crocheters is what to choose!! The shop has a warm atmosphere and is beautifully laid out. There is no rush to choose your wool and accessories, a cosy sofa to relax on whilst you look at patterns. The lady who runs it is knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. You really can't ask for more from a wool shop, perfect!

I have visited Yarn many times - it is just fabulous and Rosie is always so helpful and welcoming whether I am buying a bag full of wool or just one button. The range of yarn stocked is fabulous and very inspirational. As I don't live in Bridport sometimes I have to shop from a distance. Once again Rosie is always ready to give help over the phone and my order always arrives quickly. I have a friend who visits me several times a year and her visit to us is not complete without a visit to see Rosie.

I first found this wool shop when I moved to bridport two years ago.... What can I say... I was blown away. The first thing that grabbed me was the owner Rosie, what a perfect wool shop owner if ever there was one..... Vibrant, knowledgeable, helpful, inspiring, patient and more besides. A lot of wool shops I've visited in the past are dark and dreary with miserable staff hiding behind bags of wool clock watching.

Not here, Rosie has got it just right... Fantastic selection of wool, books, needles, bits and bobs, patterns, projects already knitted, lots of colour and inspiration. I just love it when I visit, I always come away with a bag of goodies, and a smile on my face; Rosie has a wicked sense of humour.

Her workshops are excellent too. Having knitted for years I had never mastered crocheting... So I took a one day course at Yarn. I came away hooked, so to speak.

The shop is ideally situated in the heart of Bridport next door to the Electric Palace, another excellent venue. No shopping trip should be complete without a trip to this most gorgeous shop. Well done Rosie.

This shop is just so inspiring. The selection of yarns are mind-boggling and the colours so totally amazing that you just have to knit! Rosie, who owns the shop, is an absolute treasure. She has so much patience and couldn't be more helpful. She taught me how to knit at one of her brilliant workshops and helps me now whenever I make a mistake. Bridport is a fantastic town, but a visit here is not complete without visiting Yarn as well.

I booked onto the "Learn to crochet flowers" workshop at Bridport Yarn, Having previously been there to an all day workshop called "Learn to crochet for beginners".
The course today cost only £20, which included expert tuition by Rosie, yarn, flower crochet patterns, a Bridport Yarn canvas bag & coffee/tea & biscuits.
It was a small group, and we were seated around a table in the nice warm environment of the wool shop - which to any knitter or crocheter, resembles a sweetie shop from heaven.
Rosie has the patience of a saint - she is helpful and obliging and nothing is too much trouble.
My 12 year old Daughter has also been on a "Children's crochet workshop" at Bridport Yarn, and after a couple of hours learnt how to cast on, make a chain and some simple stitches enabling her to carry out some simple crochet projects.
There is no better way to spend a Sunday morning.
I will definitely be signing up to the "Crochet Christmas ideas workshop" being held in November.

The shop is simply crammed full of beautiful yarns and patterns. The lady that served me was friendly and helpful and not at all pushy. Well worth a visit!

I recently did a crochet workshop at 'Yarn', Bridport, and was lucky enough to be taught by owner, Rosie. I can't thank her enough. Such a great teacher, very patient, kind and encouraging. On top of that she knew exactly what she is talking about. By the end of the 2 hour lesson I felt completely confident to practice the daisy crochet technique she taught me. I was also lucky enough to be initiated into the mysteries of producing the 'Magic Circle' abracadabra ! Now I know ! Shhhh it's a secret.

Apart from all that, she gave me lots of other little practical tips to use, some wool samples and super chunky crochet hook. The shop itself is inspirational, set out to display the huge selection of quality designer type wool in super shades and colours, and a large selection of stylish patterns. If you are interested in working with wool, learning more and making yourself some colourful and fashionable knitwear, Yarn is definitely the place you need to go to shop and do some workshops. Also, guys, the workshops would make excellent gifts for that wonderful woman in your life. I would thoroughly recommend it, have fun. Thanks again to fab teacher Rosie.

What can I say? A very lovely review....thank you! One of the finest things in life is to be able to share knowledge to enthusiastic people who are open to being inspired and enlightened. The process is two way and I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop too! Thank you once again. Rosie
