About
The Alleyways Bridport Antiques Centre is in the beautiful town of Bridport, Dorset in the Art & Antique Quarter on the Saint Michael’s Trading Estate. The building may be old and have a few leaks but it all adds to the charm of the place. With its partitioned areas each trader has their own unit, and we now have over 50 of them. We are by no means alone, there are other shops with their Antiques & Collectables together with an excellent upholsterer, craftsmen with workshops, glass supplier, sign maker, large discount furniture store, large electrical retailer and not to forget an excellent cafe and wine merchant plus lots more. We have our own in-house workshop at the rear housing our own wood turner, joiner/carpenter who repairs some of our furniture, refurbishes, renovates and makes tables to order. A bespoke picture framer and furniture maker works alongside our many units offering the widest range of antiques and collectables in Bridport. The actual shop has an eclectic mix of it

A unique reuse of old unused buildings, fabulous.

Had no idea this place existed until I spoke with a local person who signposted me. This is such a unique Quater of this town, where artists, and sellers gather to make and sell their wares. It’s super interesting, and can spend as much or as little time as you want. Lovely.

Never know what little gem your going to find!

Absolutely one of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon. The alleyways is full of vintage and antique items, from furniture, to jewellery, to clothing. There is plenty of stuff you would love to take home and it’s still very enjoyable even if your just window shopping.

Good way to spend a few hours.

Great eclectic and bohemian daily indoor and monthly street market. It reminds me of Camden Lock in London in the early days before it became an international attraction. Great atmosphere when the sun shines and the stall holders and buskers are out. Sit outside at the cafe and watch the world go by or amble in and out of the numerous sheds and shops for antiques, brick a brac, old vinyl records etc.

We have relations in West Bay and tend to be in area a couple of times a year. We found The Alleyways three years ago and now have several "finds" which have been added to our eclectic mix. Alleyways has a real mix of "stock". Best to know your prices with some units, but we never seem to call and leave empty handed!! Staff really friendly and helpful, always ready to "discuss" the item !!

Biggest and Best in The West!
Sep 2017 • Couples
We often pop into The Alleyways in Bridport if we need something for the house or garden, an unusual gift for someone or just for a browse. We visit antique centres quite a lot and I would say this is the largest we have found and it opens 7 days a week, summer and winter whereas others close on odd days. Parking is easy which is helpful when buying large items although The Alleyways does offer a delivery service. The stock is fascinating and ever-changing. Prices are good and there's always a bargain to be found. The last time I visited I was looking for 3 or 4 small pieces of furniture and I found what I wanted and was really delighted. I rarely come away with nothing. Strangely, I went in with quite specific ideas on what I wanted but saw some quite different items which I really liked so bought those instead and they look great! The staff are really knowledgable, welcoming and helpful, they are familiar with the huge amount of stock and are able to point you to specific things or help with ideas and advice for restoring, reupholstering or upcycling. There is always help if you need items loaded into your car. We often bring friends and family here if we have visitors and young and old enjoy browsing. It's dog-friendly too!
