Went here to break up a long journey deeper into Devon. So many historical items to see, with some absolute gems. Whilst current covid restrictions limit all the interactive childrens elements, its still well worth a visit for an hour or two. Nice to see a museum pitch the price just right at £6 an adult and children free.

We visited Tiverton museum 6/4/22 and were greeted by a friendly informative staff member (I believe his name was Glynn). He was very helpful and gave us a quick guide of all the facilities layout and exhibitions, he addressed the children and gave them some quiz sheets for them to complete. An amazing display of history and some very unique exhibits, we even had a laugh with the period dress up costumes and my son could have spent all day just pretending to drive the "Tivvy Bumper" Overall very interesting and a great museum! thank you for the hospitality and amazing work :)

This was a gem of a place to visit during our week long holiday in Devon with our two young boys (3 & 8).

On a rainy day this was a great place to visit, lots of interesting exhibits to give a look back at history and how people lived.

The kids particularly liked the steam train where they can go into the cab and touch all the dials and sound the whistle.

It was also really fairly priced relative to a lot of other attractions.

Would recommend.

We came to your museum today (got there just after 1pm) and we just wanted to say it was the best museum experience we have ever encountered!

We came along with our 4 children. 3 of them are autistic. Usually museum visits are very fraught for us as most often our autistic children cannot cope.

The staff/volunteers who welcomed us (there was a man on front desk/lady on another desk/another man who I think may have been new?) were absolutely lovely - we felt welcomed and comfortable immediately. It just felt very warm and we were given loads of information and guidance.

Just wanted to give some positive feedback and thanks to the lovely staff/volunteers- it all made for an enjoyable afternoon.

Thank you :)

Thank you so much for your review Michelle - it means a lot to us that you and your family felt so welcome and had such a good time. We have passed your comments onto the volunteers on duty who were delighted (including one who was indeed on his first day). We hope to see you again soon!

Had a fantastic time at Tiverton Museum with my young children. There were plenty of fun activities with toys scattered around the museum. They loved the activity backpacks. This is a really fantastic museum and exceptionally well thought out to provide interest for young children.

We dropped in for the Tourist Information but decided to wander around the Museum which is like a tardis and absolutely fascinating. We were very warmly welcomed by the ladies at the desk. Loved the train and cart collection in a separate area. Excellent value for money. Thank you so much

Looked a bit small and thought £5.50 entrance fee a bit steep. However, it keeps on going. After walking around the two floors you then go outside where there's a steam engine in a hall with many other artefacts. Re-thought the fee and reckon it's very good value for money.

Was thrilled to find the Museum was open, as so many places closed at the moment. What a nice surprise. Happy couple of hours exploring many aspects of the town and area’s history.
Displays are really well designed. Enough info for people wishing to learn more, and yet really approachable for children and those who prefer more visual displays .
Really welcoming. There is a free multi story car in park opposite. Bus station v close .

An excellent local museum with plenty of interest from pre history right up to late 20th century. It covers every aspect you can think of including agriculture, home life , local sport, local people and don't on any account miss the locomotive in the transport area. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. We spent a wonderful couple of hours there and we will make sure we return when we are next in the area.
