A whole day of entertainment - well worth the money
Oct 2019 • Family
I have visited Dingles a number of times with various family members and teenagers. All ages love it with something for everyone. There are rides of different speeds for thrill seekers and the more calm rides for a tamer time. The the arcade with old penny slots is great fun and also educational for children to see the old coins and toys. There is a cafe on site with great facilities and a large car park with plenty of space. I would recommend for a whole day activity and great if the glorious British weather decides to pour down as only a short walk between exhibition buildings. A great historical yet fun place to be for the whole family. 5 stars !!

Bad managment
Feb 2020 • Family
I think its disgusting to see another review similar to mine days after my review.

After I have made a complaint regarding this man. I also have had no kind of reply from managment or anyone higher up in realation to this matter.

Poorly managed, I can not beleive this man still has a job in a place where children go to have FUN. Hes clearly a bully.

Fantastic day out for friends and family
Feb 2020 • Family
We loved our day out at Dingles, it has such a lovely authentic feel of a fairground and the volunteers and staff do such a good job to make the rides fun and ensure everyone has a great time.
We went on the ghost train, ark ride, moon rocket, dodgems and also had fun on the side shows (even won a coconut!).
The museum is such a great element and really informative and interesting to learn the history of the fairground.
We stopped for lunch in the cafe and the food is really tasty and well priced.

All in all a great way to spend 3+ hours, happy faces all round.

Rude Manager
Feb 2020 • Family
Myself along with my 2 young sons, my friend and her young daughter came to visit Dingles during the half term. We were welcomed by 2 lovely female staff on reception and made our way through the museum and then onto the rides.
My son bought some cans floss at the carousel shack ( part of the cafe ) and the young lady there was so polite and cheerful, made my son happy.
The staff were all dressed up , bar some in red dingles and those dressed up were amazing and helpful.
But then we stumbled across a man who appeared to be the manager, bold head, glasses and with the most rude and argumentative persona!
My friends little girl was trying to say she wanted to go on the ride ( she has a speech impairment) so she was trying to ask him and he completely lost it with her, saying I can’t understand you etc to the point she burst into tears.
Luckily the children had gone on all they wanted , so we were heading up to the cafe for something to eat and done treats.
Well what can I say about the cafe and the staff..... blooming amazing!!! They were so busy , but that didn’t stop them being very helpful , polite and attentive to their customers.
We ordered tuna / cheese paninis which were amazing!!! And also a chocolate milkshake, all brought over by a bubbly cafe team member.
I’d visit Dingles again ONLY to use the CAFE! You girls saved the day xXx

Utterly fantastic day out!

A wonderful combination of museum pieces to look at and more importantly, rides and stalls that actually work! I went with my parents and a friend, and had such a good time! The rides were great, the exhibits interesting, and the staff were wonderful. A really nice cafe too. Only 2 very minor things to be aware of. In wet weather such as today, the car park is slightly muddy, flip flops not advised! Also while the admission includes 10 tokens, be aware that the rides are 3 tokens each. More are available for 50p each. We spent £1.50 each extra, but you may be tempted to get more! Cant reccomend enough for a fun all weather attraction.

We (2 adults and a 8 and 6 year old) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Huge plus point is that you can take your own picnic and provided you do not eat in Cafe you can settle anywhere - ideal for special diet folk.

Lovely day out with 2&5 Yr old
Feb 2020 • Family
My husband and I took our 2 & 5 year olds in half term. We weren't expecting much, but were pleasently surprised and had a great day out.

Its more of a museum with reclaimed rides as opposed to a fairground. I could see that some may be disappointed by this attraction, as vintage and learning about history isnt to everyone's liking, but we (adults) could appreciate this, and the kids loved the rides and hall of mirrors. I wouldn't recommend it for older kids, 10+, as they would probably expect a full fair by today's standards and would be disappointed!

I need to mention the staff, who were helpful, entertaining and most delightful! They really made an effort with the customers, by mingling with the crowd, providing free face painting, free dressing up, making medals and by cycling round the attractions on unicycles/penny farthing.

We paid for the days entry and by gift aiding our payment, have a year's pass, which we will be sure to use again this year. I will also recommend to my parents who will appreciate this attraction, although they won't need to purchase the tokens for the rides!

Rude staff, later established was the manager
Feb 2020 • Family
We arrived at 12.44pm met by two lovley ladies on the tills who offered us our adults and child saver tickets totalling to £39.30 and provided us with our ten tokens, both of which said have a nice day after we had paid and was departing the till area.

After this however it was not a good day or should I say 30 minutes of being within the fun fair area.

My Daughter and myself went into the vintage penny arcade area, where we were looking at the 2p machine area. Firstly I seen some fallen 2ps x3, which I called to my daughter as I went to pick these up there was a very rude voice that said put them back, to which I replied sorry and put them back into the winning tray area. My daughter was then on her way over, she too went to pick up these coins in the winning aera the attendant looked up and shouted very rudely and loudly at my daughter, 'leave it alone'. Even though he had just heard me say dont touch them we have been told not to, and she had put them straight back down.
I asked the attend who was a male of around 5ft 8 bald head and wore glasses not to shout at my daughter. He argued back with me saying he had not when other people around had also witnessed this event. I looked to see if he had a name badge on but could not see he had one visable. We moved away from this area and went over into fairground area. Where my daughter then went into herself and requested we went home. I tried to encourage her to stay as we had just spent a fair amount of money to attend this attraction and travelled along way from Bridgwater Somerset. She broke down into tears and refused to continue on. I asked another attendent the name of the man in question to which my response was 'this happens alot, he is the manager, did he have a name badge on'?, to which I replied I could not see one and would like to make a complaint. They gave me the name of 'Dooks'.

We then headed back up to the till area at the entrance and explained the situation, to see if we could get a refund as my daughter was now in tears and refusing to continue on and we had only been within the vacinity for 30 minutes. Again these two ladies on the till area will very understanding and helpful and with no hesitation sorted us a refund, we gave back the coins we had recieved as we had not even had chance to use these. Again we recieved great service, suprising at the example there so called manager was setting.

I want to make the following points,
1. This is a family friendly attraction where kids will be present. Staff should be excepting of this and be family friendly this is not what I found today.
2. Staff not wearing visable name badges, within a custom focused attraction. Name badges should be worn, for events like these or to even give good reviews on them.
3. For a fully grown man to shout at a small young child is not acceptable in any instnace especially when it is classed as 'Fun for all the family on your website' and the child had already been told not to.
4. If this has happened before why has this not been dealt with accordingly and the manager re-trained or diciplined in someway?

I want to say how great the majority of the staff are, some being volenteres and not paid which is lovely. It only takes one person to let the estabilishment down and you loose good paying custom. Its a shame this is the actions of a manager who should lead by example, and I could not have my complaint dealt with there and then.
