Very nice beach, however i would urge families with young children, to watch what their kids at play. The amount of dog pooh that has been kicked over by irresponsible owners is disgusting.

This is a great beach for walking, although not suitable for bathing. Good to have sand to walk on even at high tide. The dunes are lovely to wander in. Lovely views to Appledore and perfect place to catch the evening sun and sunset

Absolutely lovely beach and lovely location. Having young children, sat in the area which appeared to be within the dog free zone. Even though it was by far the smaller section it was over run with dogs. Most were not on leads, I saw one...More

This is a beautiful area of North Devon that is spoilt by the senseless few who keep taking their dogs where they shouldn't. The signs on Instow beach state clearly that dogs are not allowed on the left hand side of the beach during the...More

Our first visit to Instow and we took two dogs. Having the beach literally just over the road from where we were staying was a huge plus. The beach is incredible and stretches quite a distance. The sand is what you would want for children,...More

The change in water levels - tidal changes are super obvious here and a great place to teach kids how the coast works. Not a bucket and spade beach but still nice enough

As I understand it the quay end of the beach up to where the tidal barrier is put out across the road has a dog ban from Easter to end of September. As to parking the better car park is the small tarmacked one at the quay... More

If you turn right on the beach opposite the Boathouse Pub you can't go wrong. After walking the dog take a drink in the Boathouse which is animal friendly.
