About
A visit to Dartmoor wouldn't be complete without taking a trip to the uniquely magical garden of Pixieland, the renowned home of the Dartmoor Pixie. Within the Flora and fauna you will find many gnomes and pixies busy doing their daily chores and activities. There are gnomes and pixies fishing in decorative streams and ponds. Gnomes, working on the hillside, whilst others are sat watching the world go by. Pixies dressed in English football jerseys playing football while others dance on toadstools. There are many more besides, including our wide range of animals, from the small to the life size. As you take a walk round the garden there are many magical things happening within each stride including Giant toadstools to take a family photo of you all wearing pixie hats to remember and chuckle at as time goes by. This is Pixieland and there is nothing else quiet like it upon Dartmoor. Why not buy a pixie or gnome for your garden whilst visiting the gift shop and take home one of our handmade, hand painted cheeky chaps for yourself or for a loved one as a gift of your trip to Dartmoor.Beyond the humour, garden gizmo's and garden ornaments, there’s a wide range of other items that we sell here at Pixieland; Such as our renowned British Sheepskin Rugs, which are available in many luxurious colour’s, plain and pretties, and even skins sewn together to make exquisite large rugs. A Single soft skin will cost you less than £30 and makes a great rug, throw, seat cover or even a luxury dog bed. Don’t pass Pixieland by! You’ll chuckle at the memory for years afterwards :)

Could not disagree with last two reviews more! Not sure what people are expecting…. Took my daughters (5 & 8 yrs) for a wander and visit to the shop. The short walk around the pixie glade (free!!) is enchanting with gnomes, fairies, animals and toadstools, a wishing well and water features. We had a lovely time looking at them all and the owners could not have been more friendly as helpful in the shop.
We will definitely return.

I have gone to this place for many years, and now I take my young son. Lovely people that run this place, couldn’t do enough for you. Sheepskin rugs and slippers are amazing and then all the other unusual bits too. The pasty’s are pretty blooming good too. You have to go, it’s amazing!

I couldn’t believe this little place was still there as I last went when I was a kid about 40 years ago! It’s a magical quirky little place full of gnomes in the gardens and a little gift shop. The lady there was so nice and helpful. Next time we are near Dartmoor we will pop in again. When we got home, my daughter was straight on their website looking at their gnomes. Looks like I’m going to have to buy one or two of our own now!!!

My daughter was very excited about visiting Pixieland although left very disappointed. The place is tired and not very appealing, a real shame as we drove all the way from Plymouth to visit. The man who owns the place is also very rude and obnoxious.

Excited to be seeing pixies but not one in sight in the untidy gnome filled garden which took a whole of 2 minutes to walk around. Shop a bit odd, again nothing pixie related there. Very disappointing and not worth stopping the car for.

Just a shop. Good for little children as there is lots of gnomes in the garden to check out. Been twice now and just the same second time and the children less interested as a couple of years older. Good for a 10 min stop off, but the kids will talk you into buying a fairy or elf.

I have been visiting since I was a child and now bring my children here. It is a wonderful, magical, innocent place and somewhere that is etched in the DNA of generations of Devonians and tourists alike.

You can stroll the gnome garden dressed as a pixie from their dressing-up crate and this year there was a trail to do alongside silly photos and gnome spotting. They also have tea/coffee and cakes, gifts and a small play park. Lovely friendly folk their too.

For me this is one of the most charming attractions in Devon and we love it. I have been asking my family to buy me the ‘Pixie King’ ornament for years now - I just love the place. A must for every family.

Go there for some old-school fun and magic. Well worth a stop.

Every time in travel through dartmoor I always stop here with the children, it's like a little magical world, but now there a change there's a competition for the children to find certain items in the garden and they have to tick off, if finding them all there's a little gift for them on completing the task....I know it's some sweets, but it's free and gets the whole family playing and looking especially the little pig who likes playing....that's a clue...lol, but don't forget to put your hat on its a must if going around the garden, it was great fun for all of us and all free to do, pop into the shop for a look around with some great little buys even for the children.....This place is a must to pop in and make friends with the pixies before travelling through dartmoor...........just be careful of the road as some vehicles do travel far too fast around that corner, and I bet my children will stop there with there children when in the area.....what a great little magic place, and it's free to visit, please don't get commercialised like a lot of other places have done but carry on doing what you do best.....bringing families closer....just wished I owned this....thank you.

'Pixieland' is a well-run gift shop attraction relating to the mythology of the 'Dartmoor Pixies'. It has an outdoor attraction in the form of a 'Pixie Garden' which presents a magical mystery land for younger children to enjoy themselves in whilst mum and dad are otherwise occupied in the gift shop. Many gifts.are offered with a mythological or supernatural theme, including a fine range of books relating to local mythological history, of which there is much on Dartmoor! Some very attractive gift figurines are also offered apart from the usual types of gifts to be expected in such a place. Gifts with a difference! The hospitality shown by the owner/proprietor is of the first order and my daughters have become addicted to the establishment. It is a fine, well-run establishment that will add greatly to memories of a trip to Dartmoor!

This place is absolutely mental. It's so nuts it's worth a visit just for that!
I visited a while back with my wife, sister and her partner as we happened to be passing on a rather mad and miserable day out on Dartmoor. There's nothing to do except look at a random collection of gnomes hidden in the garden and put a pixie hat on and take a photo of each other. You're left feeling somewhat bewildered at the experience but its worth having just for that .
You can buy the usual tourist tat of jams and pencils etc. Don't expect to stay longer than 20 minutes unless you really are bonkers!
