Me and my partner went for the hour ride today 29/09/21,it was booked for the 28/09/21,but we had a phone call from them in the morning to see if we wanted to change the date to the 29th as it was raining heavily that day.which was very nice of them as both me and my partner had not ridden a horse in a long time.
Iv read reviews about the state of the place, yes it's not a 5 star hotel it's a working stables and the dogs are really friendly and just want to play. The horses we had (pebbles and peggy) were just right for us both and looked very healthy.we went around the finlake resort and with a member of staff at the front leading and one at the back i and my partner felt safe and was able to really enjoy the views and ride.i would highly recommend trying this experience and I'm sure me and my partner will be back to do it again.
Thank you for a great ride

Excellent experience, kind staff (we were s bit nervous as they seemed a bit rude in the phone but must have been a bad day). Our 6 year old loved it!! Just make sure you know the riders height and weight prior to arrival would defo recommend.

Lovely horse riding experience
Jul 2021
3 family members visited and completed a 1 hour basic hack experience. Staff were really professional, lovely horses and made the experience extremely enjoyable in beautiful surroundings. We travelled from Paignton and took around 35 minutes and is a straightforward. Journey. We shall be visiting again soon when we return to our holiday. Suitable for all ages and levels of experience

We refused to book a ride here are what we saw and experenced
May 2021
We went along with a semi-open mind reading the mixed reviews on here. The place is indeed run down, and agree it looks like the Dingles place from Emmerdale. An older woman was barking orders at young stable girls and it did make us feel very uncomfortable. there are a couple of dogs, chickens etc all walking around and mess everywhere. My wife and I refused to let the children ride here as we didn't like the want the women spoke to the poor girls, and the whole mess and dirt. The Horses looked healthy enough but they are worked hard going around the park several times a day, 7 days a week, even in the sweltering heat. I wasn't allowed to give 0 stars, so gave 1 star, which is for the horses and the poor stable girls who have to work for such a bully,

It was okay
Apr 2021
Okay the good bits first. The horses are lovely and well looked after. The kids had a lovely track around the resort. The stable girls are nice and friendly.
Now to the rest. The stables look like it belongs to the Dingles in Emmerdale. It looks in very poor condition. There are two lovely (another positive) dogs running around, chicken and ducks. Also a big pile of horse manure.
the older lady doing the booking was officious bordering on rude. the way she spoke to. some of the stable girls were highly unacceptable. the girls are clearly scared of her. Dont let it deter you from taking your kids riding there, as they will love it and they are oblivious to everything else apart from the horses and the dogs. When I am next down I will leave a book in her little booking office entitled, how to make friends and influence people!

kids enjoyed it
Apr 2021
The stable yard looks ropy, like something from a gypsy camp, but the horses are healthy and well kept, with some nice dogs roaming around. The stable manager obviously rules with an iron rod as the stable girls seem frightened of her.
The kids enjoyed a treck around the resort. they have ponies for 4 years upwards, going up to horse for the nervous/first times though to experienced riders.
in all it's worth the money, just don't let the stable condition and stable mistress scare you off.

Holiday activity, first time experience
Oct 2020
It was our 2 daughters first experience of being on a horse. Our youngest daughter who worries a lot was very nervous and started crying. The staff were very supportive and made her feel very comfortable. They did not give up on her and gave her a chance. So thankful to Morgan who lead her on the ride. We were shocked that even though this was their first time on a horse they were expected to ride completely by themselves in a group following instructions with no previous direction or advice however it turned out just fine and they both had a fantastic time. Boots and hats free to borrow. Good price for a enjoyable activity. Horses calm and well looked after.

Great friendly centre

My partner wanted to go riding while we were on holiday so we used this riding centre. Lovely and friendly staff, enjoyable riding for someone who has never been horse riding before, felt totally comfortable. Horses were friendly and the route was perfect for a novice rider

Horse Riding Experience
Aug 2020 • Friends
Had an hours session with 3 friends as part of a trip away for my 40th, the staff were amazing they were really friendly and bubbly and upbeat, made us at ease especially with my friend who hadn’t rode before, they had boots and hats to borrow and gave us a hair covering and disposable gloves (for COVID purposes) (gloves were a small fee or you could bring your own!) There was a full briefing on what to do and your horses behaviours (mine was known to be a fidget - wanting to keep moving, whilst my friends was a bit lazy - needing encouragement to get moving) it was nice because you kind of got to know the horse too before the trip. They wouldn’t put a horse with someone who couldn’t handle it as they asked you questions about your ability in the form before the ride and asked questions from reading the form, they were very thorough, checking your weight and height to give you the right horse! The ride was 8 of us with 3 staff one at the front one at the back and one in the middle! They called instructions to you or came over if they thought you were struggling. They supported my friend really well as she was new to riding! They took us around the Holiday Park and onto a bridle path into a wooded area and back to the stables, we got a full hour and they were fantastic would recommend to Adults and Families as the others in our group had children with them and the kids really enjoyed it too! Thank you so much to all the ladies for making our experience so fun and enjoyable!!
