Quality and craftsmanship oozes from every item in this wonderful gallery shop in the heart of Chagford. Handmade leather ware, including bags and belts that will last a lifetime, gorgeous, individual one of a kind jewellery and pottery pieces and quirky wooden furniture are all for sale, as well as stunning artworks and other craft items. The gallery is home to locally produced crafts and given the work, time and dedication each piece demands, the prices are very reasonable. For a special gift or holiday treasure, this is a shop well worth a visit.

Lovely community shop selling interesting beautifully crafted, individual pieces made by local craftspeople .

Very good selection of handmade gifts of excellent quality many of which are locally made. I thought some of the silver and brass jewellery was very original and reasonably priced.

Nice venue. Shame the owner, manager, supervisor doesn't realise customers pay their wages. What is wrong with the lady who sits on the high stool in reception. She never smiles or acknowledges customers entering and or leaving. The cafe boss, sits at a table for 6 on her phone / laptop when there are customers waiting for a table. Come on please????

It was a Sunday and it was about the only shop open apart from the newsagent . I had a wander inside and a very friendly man was in there , he didn't hassle and I spent a while browsing the lovely local crafts . It has some quite expensive stuff in there but it is mainly from local crafts people so you would expect it to be a bit more pricey , having said that I found a lovely framed print of a tree for £45 which I though was very reasonable and a lovely momento of Chagford .

After visiting the 3 Hares Gallery we walk round the corner and found the Artisan Gallery full of excellent hand made Leather, wood, pottery, woolens articles and silver jewelery and sitting at the back of the shop was the Artisan working beavering away at his craft. My father had done leather work whilst recuperating in Burma during the second world war. But never carried it on when he came home, so watching this craftsman at his trade was delight for me and of course he made what I am sure is difficult process look so simple. He explained what a skiving knife was for and demonstrated beveling with another bit of kit. Well worth a visit, go see the man in action.

Artisan is a beautiful shop dedicated to local "artisans" selling pottery, leather, paintings and other beautiful handmade crafts. My wife bought some beautiful pottery.

This is a fascinating little shop specialising in goods made primarily in the area. It is well worth a visit, and I would highly recommend their "bug boxes", made from recycled timber.
