Very nice easyish walk
Oct 2020 • Family
A very nice walk around the Reservoir. I felt compelled to write this as I am no walker and struggle with anything slightly steep due to a bad foot. Apparently it should take 2-3 hours to do the full circuit but we were just under 2 hours with a few picture stops. From the car park we went right and followed the path around the reservoir. Some parts are pathed, some grassy, we visited in October half term which was very rainy so muddy in places. Overall a nice walk. Mainly flat with 2 steepish parts near the beginning of you go tight. Only scored 4 out of 5 because part of the walk near the end was on a road which was a bit disappointing. We felt we had gone wrong somewhere, but it is correct. Hopefully this helps someone else who struggles with steep slopes or uneven ground.

Lovely circular walk. Guide says 2-3 hours, was back in an hour and stopped along the way. Mid week and very quiet

Beautiful easy walk
Sep 2020 • Couples
Stumbled upon this by accident while driving around Dartmoor. Luckily had walking boots and drinks with us.
We did the whole walk and took us just under 2 hours with a rest 3/4 of the way round. £2 for 2 hours in the car park (cash only).
Would definitely go again when we are in Devon it was a beautiful walk.

Great little location

Lovely walk around part of the reservoir and into the forest to look at the stone circles. Made up our own walking route. Great little location.

Worth a walk all the way round

Well sign-posted from Chagford, day to get to, parking no problem, signs lead you round the reservoir - best to go anti-clockwise. It's a very accessible and helpful way to get a feel for the wildness of the area.

Unusual glimpse of nature in the bird hide
Aug 2020
Great scenery and an easy walk for our family of 4. Just over the hour. Started in drizzle but finished in bright sunshine. Part of the walk was flooded due to recent heavy rain and had to get boots wet to complete the circuit. Unusual glimpse of nature in the bird hide. I opened the door to a naked gent who apologised profusely saying that he had got soaked in the rain and needed to change! Worth a visit.

Great place for a walk
Aug 2020 • Couples
Wonderful place, very pretty scenery, nice walk. Bit steep in some places but very doable for most. Take a coins for the car park as it’s cash only.

Pleasant flat walk
Jul 2020 • Couples
Pleasant flat walk, much of it round the reservoir although some paths take you through wooded areas. It was dry when we visited but I could imagine it gets very muddy during wet weather.
Small, pay and display car park.
Narrow difficult road to access, with animals frequently on the road.
