Staffed by volunteered. A little piece of Bovey Tracey past. Considering the size of the building, contains lots of potted history in this previous Railway station. Outside contains an old railway carriage, which can be investigated inside. Free to view although a donation will assist...More

This little heritage centre has a lot of information, mostly about the industrial history of Bovey Tracey and the surrounding area. There is a lot of detail of the Moretonhampstead branch line including models of the stations at Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead as well as...More

Excellent use of the old Railway Station in Bovey Tracey, Despite good signage we still parked away from the centre but there are a few spaces at the station. The artifacts are all local to Bovey but still interesting and they have acquired a railway...More

A must for railway enthusiasts, less so for anybody else. About 30 per cent of the exhibits relate to the 12-mile Newton Abbot-Moretonhampstead branch line, on which Bovey Tracey was an intermediate stop. The route closed to passengers as long ago as 1959. The museum...More

Housed in the old Bovey railway station building, the Heritage Centre has a large range of local history information and artefacts. Highlights for me, as a steam railway enthusiast, were the superb fine scale models of Bovey station in the main building and also Moretonhampstead...More

A small museum on the outskirts of town, unfortunately not so well signposted (particularly if not walking from town). Situated in the old railway station and yard, well worth a visit if you can afford the time it has ample parking which is free just...More

The volunteers are very friendly and knowledgably. There is an excellent collection of local artefacts along with a goods wagon from Llynclys Junction. Llynclys is a railway junction near to Oswestry and part of the Cambrian Heritage Railway. The history of the railway in the...More

Lots to see in a small space. I found the geological specimens gave me an understanding of rocks we had seen on the moors. The volunteers were very friendly.

I went here after having found it in a booklet about local museums. It is a proper little local museum with a wealth of information especially about the old railway. It's easy to find and the volunteer on duty was very happy to answer questions....More

Disappointed that, although it is free, it is really just a shop that displays art for sale. Not really worth a visit in my view.
