South West Coast Path - Brixham Breakwater

South West Coast Path - Brixham Breakwater
4.5
About
A gentle, predominantly level 0.6 mile walk from the South West Coast Path along the breakwater with panoramic views across the harbour and Torbay. There are two stretches of gradient. The harbour edge does not have a handrail or barrier. There are toilets and plenty of car parking at the start or end of the walk. A cafe provides both refreshments and a panoramic view of Torbay.

An attractive ramble around Brixham
Jun 2021
So much to see on this attractive ramble around Brixham from the Breakwater to Fishcombe Cove . No real gradients until Battery park / Fishcombe. the only difficult part is dodging the seagulls and airborne chip thieves, and the odd tourist meandering close to the Harbour wall. Fabulous views throughout the walk, with plenty of refreshment opportunities. We can recommend the clotted cream ices!

The beautiful coast path to Brixham

The whole part of this path is stunning. The best part is the delightful Fishcombe cafe then a bit further is the wonderful fishing town of Brixham.

Relaxing sunset walk
Aug 2020
We had a great little relaxing walk along here from the harbour and back during sunset, and the views with the sunset where great. At the start there was lot of little gardens all differently decorated which was nice.

Brixham Breakwater - a gentle walk
Aug 2020
This is an absolutely beautiful and pleasant evening walk following part of the SW coastal path into Brixham Breakwater and Lighthouse after we visited Berry Head. We parked up at Shoalstone car park and walked along the marina towards the Brixham Lighthouse via the Breakwater. We carried on walking round the Golden Hind and arrived at the famous fish market. It was a nice gentle and peaceful marina/harbour walk with extremely good views.

Very exhilarating

A walk along the breakwater in the strong wind will blow away the cobwebs. We caught a bus from Brixham to Torquay and walked back on the coastal path, about 9 miles. Recommend checking first which way the wind is blowing and then walk with the wind at your back.

Paington to Berry Head
Sep 2019
We parked in the long stay car park in paignton and walked to Berry head and then back to brixham and got the number 12 bus back to paignton.

Lovely views of the area and some great places to stop for a picnic or drink/cake.

Some of the signs have gone so be carefull as you can end up going the wrong way.

Steep in places.

Historic Breakwater
Jun 2019 • Solo
Built by the Americans for the launch of the D-day assault in 1944 (just visited after the 75th anniversary celebration) this Pier is very long and has distances marked along it for those enjoying the walk.

A wonderful walk - just decide how far you want to go
Nov 2018 • Couples
The coast path runs straight through Brixham - stand by the Golden Hind and decide if you want to go left or right. Paths are well maintained and not too arduous, although footwear better than flip flops is advised. And the views are wonderful.
