About
This stunning headland, with its iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic Fort, is surrounded by water on three sides and offers exceptional views across Torbay and beyond. You can enjoy some superb coastal walks, spot wildlife on land and at sea, or simply relax in the award-winning Guardhouse Café. Our Visitor Centre will tell you all about the Reserve, its history, wildlife and the work of Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust. Do check for opening times during off peak season. This is a must-visit day out and is either a pleasant walk from up from Brixham or short drive to the visitor car park. Dogs are very welcome throughout the site; leads are required in certain areas. Disability access is good with tarmac or laid paths into both the North and South Forts.

Not worth £110
Sep 2021
Currently being sued for £110 because the parasitic parking company the Trust have partnered with fail to acknowledge that their system is flawed and does not always capture both arrival and departure, causing unavoidable issues (just google 'Park with ease' to get an idea of their conduct!)

I politely reached out to the Trust assuming this was a simple misundertsanding and the land owners would apply some common sense... unfortunatley my trust was misplaced and I was informed that they apparently have no control what the company does on their property in their name!

It's hard to explain how dissapointing it is to see a charitable trust partnering with this kind of company whilst claiming to care about anything other than extracting money from people.

It genuinaly beggars belief how they can be entrusted to protect the coastline when they can't even protect their own visistors from the company THEY hired to run the carpark!

Coastal walk
Nov 2021
Lovely walk along the coastal path. Great views of the devon coast. Lots of wildlife to observe, but sadly no dolphins to see on the day we visited.

Wrap up warm and it gets quite windy.

Refreshing!
Oct 2021
Great views across Torbay, interesting Napoleonic-era fort (with cannons :-)).
Good range of bird-life on the headland and visible on the cliffs and sea below.
Refreshing winds on a stormy day!

Car park is pay as you leave, 50 pence per 20 minute stay (though you have another 25 min to leave after paying for your ticket, so we had 1hr 15min for £1.50

CROOK OPERATORS OF CAR PARK
Oct 2021 • Couples
Be warned, the car park charging arrangement is poorly signed, and your car is recorded on entry and exit. A short stay (12 minutes to check the map on a really foggy day) without payment will result in a fine of £30. Appeals are a waste of time as these crooks are out to trap the unwary at any cost. Do yourself a favour, don’t go.
