Quirky little museum with a wealth of information about the local area, the RAF station, WW2 memorabilia and the Braunton Railway, plus a model railway. The ladies behind the desk were so friendly and helpful, all in all a most enjoyable visit.

We loved the local feel of this museum. Range of exhibits and a small model railway. Came out having discovered more about the area. Staff friendly. Free admission. Public toilets next door.

Fantastic countryside centre which celebrates everything about the Braunton burrows and local areas. Absolutely must for nerdy types like myself to get a nice friendly daily dose of biological ecology. Highly recommended for rainy days as a free family attraction.

Great little museum on the corner of the main car park. A excellent story of Braunton beginning and current situation. Great working model of Braunton's old railway station (now sadly gone).

Lovely little museum with plenty of interesting facts about Braunton through time. We, unfortunately, arrived at 14.55 so whizzed around the rooms and took photos of the info to read on the car journey home. Would love to go back!

I had two and a half hours to kill in Braunton and there is not a lot to do here, so I went into this museum. The staff were clearly volunteers and they were keen for me to see everything. Whilst it is free, it was very clear via notices that they wanted you to make a donation. Well, I was there whilst working and I don't believe in spendin' when you are earnin' so that wasn't going to happen. Also, I was in need of a loo. Unfortunately the toilets in the car park opposite were disgusting. There were no seats and they stank. I ended up having to sneak in and out of a pub. This meant that I didn't really enjoy the information on display in the museum as I had other things on my mind! However, if you didn't have that sort of problem, I think it would be well worth a visit. The contents were the usual: bit of Victorian, bit of WW1, some trains up stairs, etc. Worth a visit.

Very pleasant little museum, with helpful staff. Worth a visit if you are in the area and you can usually find a car parking space,
