After coffee in the delightful cafe, my friend and I viewed the galleries. The exhibition of Victor Hugo’s paintings and other artefacts, backed up by boards explaining his life, was fascinating. Other galleries explained the geological history of the island, legends and paintings acquired. Facilities...More

I enjoyed my visit and there was lots of different souvenirs you could buy at reasonable prices. The History of Guernsey was well displayed.

I was reticent to visit this gallery which we chanced upon when following a town walk. However the girl at the desk was so enthusiastic we took her at her word and were so pleased. We learnt lots about Victor Hugo, and there were drawers...More

Thank you so much for your comments. The art in the drawers is old and fragile and has to be protected from the light. Some drawers are a little stiff to pull out; we like to think of it as a mini-workout, banishing flabby upper...More

Very well organized. Easy to walk through. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff will answer all your questions. I thought the Victor Hugo Visions Of Exile was especially interesting since I only thought of him as an author.

I’m struggling to give this 3 if I’m honest. As museums go, this must be a work in progress as it certainly does not feel like the finished article. Items are not in a coherent order, they have insufficient explanation and context and the art...More

Thank you very much for your feedback. It has been seen by the most senior staff in the Museum and taken under consideration. The video in the foyer on the restoration of WW2 Fortifications did have a title card at the start of the video,...More
